I have just received a call from this number. A foreign sounding woman claimed to be from Microsoft Support and said that they had noticed that my PC had been sending out malicious messages over the last few days and that she would help me to stop it!

I told her that I was an IT expert (true) and that there was nothing wrong with my PC. I then told her to go and get a proper job and put the phone down while she was still trying to convince me that the call was genuine and not a scam.

That wasn't the end of it though.

About 30 seconds later the phone rang again but I ignored it and it went to answerphone. Immediately it rang again and again I ignored it. After the fifth time, I picked up and it was a man demanding to know why I had been so abusive to his colleague and put the phone down on her and that she was crying because she was only trying to be helpful.

I said that I did not talk to criminals of either sex and told him where to go and what to do when he got there!

And to think that I used to be a lady until I started getting all these unwanted calls!

Has anyone else experienced getting 'follow up' calls?

I received a phone call Monday morning from this number, I answered the phone and a woman of Asian minority spoke to me claiming that she was calling from Microsoft stating that i had downloaded unwanted files and that she wanted to take remote access of my PC to help show where the problem was and stated that she could help me remove it.  I put the phone down as i was suspicious of the call.

They also rang me today regarding the same problem. Beware this is a SCAM

I used to get calls from this number in the UK untill one day I managed to talk to someone from this number, at this point I gave the caller a piece of my mind, informing them that i was exdirectory and on PPS and that if they continued to call me I would get legal help to stop them, also if you can leave your phone connected to there number, ie leave phone of the hook, and go out.

I have had several calls from this number. At first it was an automated voice telling a certain person (unknown to me) to contact their bank, saying it was the Fraud section wishing to speak to him urgently.
I have since had two calls from a foreign voice difficult  to understand, asking to speak to this same person. Told him for the second time that this person  does not live here and NOT to ring again.
If it happens again, I may not be so polite !!!!

Had a call from this number at 7pm this evening (Saturday). What business calls you that time of day on a weekend i ask you? Call was about 80mins after a similar (no message left) call from this number (06077349187) so my hunch is that it is the same people/scammers that are behind it.
DO NOT BELIEVE THAT YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH YOUR COMPUTER IF THEY CLAIM TO BE FROM MICROSOFT, OR ANY OTHER IT ORGANISATION.
iF YOU DO SO, WHAT WILL MOST LIKELY HAPPEN IS THIS:- the person at the other end of the phone will ask you to follow their instructions - supposedly to clear the so-called rogue files that they claim to know are on YOUR computer. What happens during this scenario is that they take you around several websites/screens and you eventually end up (although unbeknown to you) on a website that enables THEM (YES, THEM) to get control of YOUR COMPUTER! Such websites are called REMOTE-ACCESS sites; and the scammers can then do whatever they like with your computer and all the data on it (including financial details like bank accounts and credit/debit card details). SO BE WARNED!!! If you get such a call THEN HANG UP IMMEDIATELY and report it to the appropriate authorities eg. MICROSOFT (the real Company), Police, or Internet Provider/Phone Company etc etc.
THIS TYPE OF SCAM WAS RECENTLY REPORTED ON BBC RADIO4 - YOU AND YOURS Programme. Have a look at their website for recent programmes - it was definately this year (2012).

Hi, see my Post on here - but if you have no computer than that just goes to show that the scammers are just using automated diallers to make their calls. I got called yet I am ex-directory - so it's pot-luck that they call you or not. I've had a number of calls from this telephone number - I know because now I Log all the numbers - especially strange ones like this, and several others like it. Be safe - hang up!!!

Your Post on here confirms my own Posting - that these people are after remote-access to peoples' computers - which they may well get if people don't HANG UP IMMEDIATELY!! Tell them to F-OFF or if you want to be polite about it; just say you have no computer! These people are pure SCUM!!!!

Hi, see my post on this - ndated 19th May, I think it is. Best to always hang up if you happen to pick up the phone and have somebody try to persuade you to do something you would later regret. NEVER allow ANYBODY to get remote access to your computer!!! Stay secure.
