who calls from this number? Calls arrive but when I answer, caller hangs up.

They're phising scammers. Don't entertain. Ive been stupid to fall for their patter. Said my computer is slow because I have so many 'rubbish' in it. They offered to clean it and sold me an anti-virus protection for 9 years for £166 (instead of £199) because I'm a pensioner. They said they'd already installed the software in my computer which icons I have on my desktop screen, namely 'Cube Support', CCleaner' and 'Comodo Anti-virus'. Do you think they've infected my computer already? How do I get rid of those? Please help as I'm only a novice on this and as I said, a pensioner and the computer is my only companion when I get housebound due to chemotherapy treatments for cancer. Thanks.

You need to get your computer checked out locally as soon as possible.  The computer virus scam is the longest runnin g scam on here.  The people who 'phone have nothing to do with Microsoft or its partners as neither would ever 'phone.  The people who do 'phone know nothing about our computers.  They do not know the ISPs or the IP addresses.  Their aim to to get remote access to the computer and they will tell any lies and use any scare tactics to get it.  If they are successful they will install spyware/malware to steal personal information like bank details and passwords.  When they ask for money it is a diversion and an exta scam as they do not ask until after they have got remote access.  That is because they know most people will refuse to pay and end the call but, by then, the damage has been done.  After you have had your machine checked out change all your passwords.  In the meantime, if you do on-line banking or purchasing contact everyone concerned and ask them to keep an eye on your accounts.

Been called twice by 00919 79999799 by very strong accented Indian gentleman purporting to be technical support from Talk Talk.  He said they were testing my line and my computer kept crashing because I had so many viruses. I said I had an ipad and mobile but then remembered I had used an ancient laptop recently although never connected to the internet as it was too slow. At this, the man was Vehement that I get that laptop and reconnect it as the problem would then infect every device unless it was cleaned. I said I needed to go out and would he please go....but he then got quite irate and said why should I go out? What reason could possibly be more urgent than my computer security!!! He said he would ring me every day as I was obviously someone who wasn't technically aware of the importance of this!! He actually rang again tonight but I told him he was a scammer and I had reported him and put the phone down.
The worrying thing is, I have only just got Talk Talk so obviously some personal information is being shared!

00919799999799 calls and hangs up whilst you are online - I'm unsure if they accrue anything from a dual call plus internet hook, but once before they corrupted a hard drive on this connection - posing as a talk talk rep immediately after a talk talk help line. The indication was they already knew the nature of the previous call and posed as that person - prior to requesting a bogus website be connected to as essential security. My curiosity is whether they have elevated access when you are online and answer a call; and if so whether a disconnect function ought be a default when receiving landline calls - unless essential not to; and selected as such by the user?

00919799999799. Got a call from this number at 8.20pm 17092014. He had an indian accent. He said that he needed to check some of my programs on behalf of my server, BT. My server is not BT, I left them some time ago. I told him that this was not the time (8.20pm) to ring upand my server was not BT. I did not give him any other information eg my name/server etc. He then hung up.  

00919654569069 rang me today, lady with an Indian accent (what else)  told me she was calling from my Internet Provider.  Asked for myself/husband told me they are receiving error messages from my computer.

Told her I would ring my ISP and check.  She hasn't phoned back...........yet!.

Another scam.

00919999755647 called several times to mobile, leaves a message saying "hello" repeatedly, foreign sounding but english speaking. I know its a scam and will never call these numbers. Its about time the Govt gave the general population more robust privacy and security. I see on today's news an unlucky woman lost £46k to scammers.

The Government will not do anything like that.       Best to find an app for your mobile so that you can block such calls yourself.

i got calls from 009196772182 by as early as 2am. philippine time. but then i never answered even once.
it is kinda annoying since our telephone rings by 2am where all were asleep and at rest.
and kinda creepy like on a movie where someone calls by that time. haha

3 calls within 5mins. I managed to answer the 1st and all I got was some "gibberish" at the other end. The next 2 calls hung up within 2 rings

I got a phone call at 2 am from this number +919888072439. I didn't answer but after he hang up my phone got mad...like in vibration mode.
What can i do?
