- Verox replies to EdieUK Apollo Group buy lists of jobseekers. They will do this by using list brokers who themselves harvest data from job websites or possibly internal staff at recruitment agencies.
It is unlawful to process personal data without the consent of the data subject, and leaves them open to be sued under the DPA section 13.
Texting, cold calling or emailing unlawful under Section 22 of the PECR. This leaves them open to action under Section 30 of PECR.
Anyone who gets a text or email from them should ask for a copy of all the data that is held and for the source of the data to be declared. This is the right of the Data Subject under Section 7 of the DPA. If they refuse to reveal it, then again they can be sued under Section 13 of the DPA.
Time to make companies that abuse personal data liable for their actions. - SandraYes, Same here

- Caller: Apollo

- Conned| 1 replyI was foolish enough, whilst going through a period of vulnerability, to register with these guys - Apollo . I figured that a few grand was a small price to pay in the grander scheme of things for a platinum executive career management service including access to the unadvertised jobs market. I guess in this day and age of due diligence and accountability I didn't believe con artists like this could operate. They are a joke - will rewrite your CV (badly), talk a lot of drivel and give duff advice along the lines of writing cold letters to senior executives whose names some faceless bloke in Leeds has simply lifted off LinkedIn. Has anyone else had any joy in actually getting their money back?
- LeenaGot a call from Appollo Euro.com 03333232112 said they have a job ?? Is this agency legitament ? 01132926158

- LeenaThey are using different no now praying on people like myself looking for jobs , who is giving out our information ? Where is our right to data protection ?
- Hacked Off replies to ConnedIf anyone has, in a moment of weakness, fallen prey to these charlatans - a bunch of middle-aged desperados who have no doubt turned to crooked dealings because they're not good for anything else -I suggest contacting your bank. If they are a fraudulent outfit, as I strongly suspect they are, the bank will refund you and do their own investigation.
- FemkeI received the same message in my mailbox as the people above have mentioned. From Sam Wright. It seemed strange to me that an "unnamed" senior consultant would want to meet and that the mail only mentioned a "London office" when their website mentions two London Offices. Thanks for this thread.
- mati too have received the email from the infamous Sam. i met their consultant who informed me that we would have a second meeting whereby i would be informed of costs. They were keen to arrange the meeting on the spot but i declined as i wanted to further google the org. i am glad i did and i too had recently joined total jobs......bad mistake.

- Dom replies to VeracityThe primary issue however is that your mobile operator is happy to (behind your back) sell your details to organisations who then themselves sell it on to other companies such as these F-witts. Best thing you can do is block and report it as you said!
- InterestingThanks for posting this up - just spoke to 'Christie', which followed on from the Sam Wright email. Phone number 03301025770

- MarkStill at it! Clicked to 'unsubscribe' to Sam Wright's emails last week and just had similar text message through from them. Also had follow up calls previously offering free initial mneeting but confirming they charge if they 'help' me further.

- AyeshaApollo Transitions called me yesterday & the number used was 0330 102 5770. I asked how they got my contact details & they said it was either from a job application or LinkedIn. I requested an email about their company. It had a link to their website. www.apollo-transitions.co.uk. Not only was the caller avoiding responding to my questions but the website is something from the 80's. The testimonials looked & sounded false. This is the person who contacted me.

- DodgedGrateful to everyone who has posted on this site. I had a similar call and email to those others mentioned and foolishly agreed to a meeting before I decided to check into Apollo and directly ask them what exactly they were offering me in the meeting, making clear I did not want any paid-for help or advice but only a standard recruitment agency service. Having found this board and other information I quickly concluded this was at best misleading, and could be much worse, and cancelled the meeting and instructed my data be deleted - which it had better be. Quite startled at the audacity of this and I find exploiting job-seekers with misleading offers to be a pretty shocking!
