Was called  from a number 0115  claiming to be from government concerning ppi and having a cheque for me asking me to send money to release the cheque obviously a scam just beware of these people number was 0115 888 1125 they said they work for a company called openwork Ltd

This is becoming a total joke this figgin 0115 never give up

Ive had three calls today from the same 0115 number and no answer, when rang back was asked to call another number, instead I txt back asking them to stop calling my mobile, this would have gone to them as a txt speak message which they rejected !

Same ere this num 01158285110 rings my gf 4/6 a day when she answers there's no reply then they send text saying to ring back or send a text. Who are these people ?

I think that those of you receiving calls with no one at the other end are describing an auto calling system used by call centres.

It works like this computer rings lots of numbers, if anyone answers and an agent is available to take the call it connects to the agent, if not, it just disconnects the call.

There is a simple way for companies to get telephone numbers - it's through the sale of the electoral roll data. You can object to being included on the public part of the register and I noticed that my council specifically asked the question this time. The problem is that once the data is purchased it is often sold on and can often be out of date when companies purchase it, and once it's out there, there is little to nothing you can do to stop it. Eg. I've been on the electoral role for 30 years and been in this house for 20 years. Understand?

Some of you talked about calls from numbers with just a few digits. I don't answer these at all as I don't know where they come from. I don't answer international calls either, caller display with plusnet says international. I have been able to dramatically reduce calls by doing this and only answering calls that I am expecting or are from family/work/known.

My phon.e rang 3.40am !! Too disoriented to answer in time. Did 1471 and it was 0115 933 8000

I just get rung up by 0115 7629993 and it showed up as centre, [***]?

Had several calls from these numbers. I just reject call but it is becoming annoying,  as they ring while at work etc. How do we stop it

Had a call today. Recorded message about ppl or something. Sick to the back teeth of these calls! Usually I don't answer and anyway they are withheld numbers. However dialled 1471 and was told the call came from 0115387486 so decided to call them and give them a piece of my mind but guess what - number not recognised. Can no one do anything to stop these??? These company practices are disgusting and it should be illegal.

Calling about 4/5 times a day when I answer they hang up

Received a message from a 115 number saying I have an appointment tomorrow at Archer house at 11:30.  Asking me to phone back if cant attend. Never made an appointment and don't know where archer address is. I assume they want me to phone back so they can make money out of the phone call and will then repeat phoning me. Ignoring text message.

I just had an Indian voice call from an 0115 number asking for my husband. I always answer foreign accents by saying there's no-one here of that name and they have the wrong number. Normally works and they put the phone down

Calls 3 times from this number - apparently a Nottingham number. I have no contacts there.
