Call from this number, spookily a couple of seconds after i added an uptodate phone number for WONGA.COM, 100% debt collectors, CARS sound rough, advise for being stuck with this??

I've had umpteen phone calls from this company, calling themselves C.A.R.S. they act on behalf of Swift motor insurance, a Direct Debit was cancelled as the insurance with Swift cover was no longer required, not known to me at the time, Swift decided to continue the cover on a vehicle for 6 weeks, the next thing we know we are having phone calls from this company trying to extort money out of me, for insurance payment that we no longer required. My advice would be never insure with Swift motor insurance and like me, do not pay a penny to these people, and send a blistering letter to the Trading Standards.

I have been getting numerous calls from 01256 306797 & mobile 07515 585775, also received a text telling me to contact them urgently, never heard of them so ignored it all, I see someone on here has had the same referred from Fitness First, who I used to be members of, however I gave them 2 months notice and paid outstanding monies so I don't think it could be them....  I have had no contact from Fitness First so am I ok to think that I can ignore this company?

Phoned me saying I owe 144 quid orange... when I payed this off over 4 years ago direct to orange. I have contacted orange and asked them if I owe them anything they said no. checked my name and my address and nope don't owe a penny... so why am I getting calls from them. they guy I spoke to is knob and rude. said he would take pleasure in takeing me to court.... bring it [***] hole...bunch of [***] ill see you in court... rudeness don't answer they will give up in the end..

This num called me today asking for details of my address and to say they were calling for a personal matter concerning myself, I asked who they were and why they were calling and the woman said she couldn't give me any info because of data protection but wanted my email, details of my address and said it was for security, I have looked this num up and it states its a debt collecting agency, I have no debts I don't own credit cards etc so why would they be calling me? Plz help

Just had a missed call from them this morning, 6 Jul 2015, when I called back, they refused to tell me, I asked where did they got my email address.

Keep getting calls from this number. When I answer, they ask for Brian. When I ask who it is they hang up and ring back a few hours later asking for the same person. I don't eve know anyone called Brian.

One thing people need to know is that, these companies are nothing but scum.
They will not stop calling you, even if you tell them that you are NOT the person they are looking for.

Did you know that after a while the banks and credit card companies write off the debts people have made on their account?

Well they do and they sell them on to these companies for as little as a pound. So you have these debt collection companies buying thousands of pounds worth of "arrears" for a pound, so if they can get ANYONE to cough up and make payments towards it,that makes them a maxim profit, hence why you're getting calls like 10 times a day and why when even you tell them that you're not ' so and so' that they are looking for, they continue  the  calls - THEY WANT THAT MONEY BY ANY MEANS.

Even when they lie and say to you that "they will take your details off their 'list'" they continue the calls and sometimes send letters out to your home.

Now, when they say they will send someone to your home - don't be scared or worried. NO ONE IS ALLOWED ON YOUR PROPERTY WITHOUT  AN APPOINTMENT. The law states this, so if someone did turn up from these scum companies to your home, you tell them to do one!

If anyone has a smartphone, please download one of the many free 'call block' apps there are onto your phone. They will give you peace of mind as the only calls that you will get are the calls from people in your phone book.

KNOW YOUR RIGHTS AND DON'T LET THESE SCUM INTIMIDATE YOU!

These people are nothing but hassle. Even if you are NOT the person they are looking for, they will STILL continue to cal and harass you.

A little background info for you:

These DCA's - Debt Collection Agencies, buy debts from Banks, Credit Card, Telecommunications and Mail Order companies for as little as a £1. The reason that it's so cheap, is that the main companies have already written it off!
Hence the harassment, They want that money regardless if you are the person who owes the debt or NOT.

A lot of these companies are chasing debts that are more than 6 years old. Debts this old are classed as 'Statued Barred' - which means that DCA's can NOT LONGER pursue people or persons for that debt. THE LAW STATES THIS! But these people hope that we the public, do not know, hence the phone calls, thee letter and threats of visits to your home.

If anyone turns up at your home, you DO NOT have to tell them anything, the law states that no one is allowed on your property unless they have an APPOINTMENT! If they don't it's seen as trespassing and you have EVERY RIGHJT to call the police to have them removed from your property. These people are  NOT bailiffs , but they will try to make out that they are to scare you. You have EVERY RIGHT to tell them to do one, both on the phone and  in person.

These people are nothing but dog crap and the more people know their rights, the more that they cannot get away with this kind of harassment.
