This is HSBC Fraud Dept, had a call from them today confirming someone had made 8 fraudulent transactions to my account today. They confirmed my card had been cancelled and a new one was being issued. The guy went through security questions before informing me, he was also able to confirm with me when I last used my cars, where it was and how much I spent. I am relieved they called.

Call from this number was from M&S Money security department.  Message left, returned call to the 0845 number left and they knew which recent online transaction was declined and explained why (potential fraud)

I called my bank after receciving a call from this number and they confirmed it was their fraud department

Do not worry about this number. I read through all these sites after a phone call from them and after i got kinda scared I decided to ring HSBC. They looked into it and confirmed that it was the HSBC fraud prevention department then put me through to that number to get them to again confirm it was HSBC fraud department. I am not one of the scammers, look me up on facebook if you want proof.

Just had a missed call from this number with no message left - not wishing to open back up the can of worms but I have NO dealings with HSBC.

I got a call from this number, the guy couldn't pronounce either of the names on my account, spoke very unclearly and then asked me to ring that number posted above for customer services. Seems odd cos we've done nothing to this account for months. I will go online and check there

This number phoned me today claiming to be M&S Money regarding my credit card asking me for security details without a reason why i had a gut feeling after answering 2 that it wasn't right and hung up the phone. tried to call back and the number does not exist!!!!!!

HSBS it is checking for fraud!

I recieved a call from this number but as I didnt recognise it I didnt answer. However reading all these posts, if it is HSBC or M&S Money, why are they calling me?? I dont bank with either or have credit cards with them!!

It IS HSBC. M&S money is part of HSBC. There are a number of different teams based there from my understanding, not just fraud.

Had a call from this number saying he was Colinfrom HSBC & to call him back on an 0238 number. Neither that or the one they called from works & I don't bank with HSBC or M&S money also not applied for anything

I have received a phone call from this number. They told me, they were from HSBC Complaints. I have told them I would phone them back. They were very eager to go through my security details! Unbelievable

Caller claimed to be hsbc wanting info on a claim.He asked me a couple of security questions and then if i wanted to give him anymore info.I said no and he said he will send a letter out with the result of my claim.Just did not feel like a typical hsbc phone call when numbers are withheld.

Says he is HSBC Complaints Dept but I am not convinced therefore went no further, luckily as I read it is a con. Beware!!!

Hi - I work for HSBC and have just received a call on this number to my office phone and can confirm that, it is an HSBC number! So don't panic folks, it is legit!

Do not speak to these people, i checked with the bank and they are fake. They rang me again today and i called them out. " no it's not ok to talk your a scammer".  The reply i got was "ok then, that's fine!"

Emailed HSBC who confirmed NO-ONE from HSBC has contacted me, so scam also said NOT to give any info over phone so Jordi I will go with the bank thanks
