SOTHEY TELL YOU A DATE OF BIRTH - ANY OLD DATE , AND YOU REPLY  YES THAT IS CORRECT  , OR ANYBODY COULD REPLY  YES THAT IS CORRECT. , MAY I SUGGEST THIS IS NOT A METHOD BUT THEM ASKINGYOU WHAT YOURDATE OF BIRTH IS WOULD BE BETTER AS IT IS LIKELY A FRAUDSTER WOULD NOT KNOW YOUR DATE OF MIRTH.  PLONKER

Called tonight - Sheldon from Tesco asking me to answer security questions re my credit card as they had unusual spending.  I was suspicious so he suggested I call them back on the tel no on the back of my card.  I put the phone down, waited 5 minutes then called it.  Got through and a woman confirmed that Sheldon worked there.  Asked me the usual questions and gave me my last 6 transactions - all correct and no problems with my card.

They are bound DPA, before they can disclose any information, they have to identify you as their customer KYC

when you answer this get ready to be accused of not knowing your mothers maiden name, the sort code or your credit limit in an accent you cannot follow. one good payer about to bin their card need a lie down now in a dark room

Hi!  Glad I checked before ringing back - I have never had any
dealings with Tesco so they have definitely chosen the wrong
no. in me.

So when they rang and asked your name and dob did you receive you credit card. Ive had the same call they said they would get in touch by text or email but ive had neither so ive rang them and theve sent a letter through post but wont say wether its a decline or accept letter

Received a call from this number. Lots security questions was very suspicious but they are really Tesco customer service was calling regarding several suspitious actions to my card after address change. So can trust them.

Still getting added to my block list....they were informed about my lost card and that they were cancelling it. I refuse to pay for things that I know I haven't bought. I still keep getting calls demanding payment of the £500+ that was used on it after it was stolen!!!

Message says they are Tesco Bank and ask you to ring 03453004278.Did so and you get a lot of options but not the person who asked you to ring.Maybe they get money all the time you're ringing. Then rang number on back of card and got same load of info/options. First one started off with 'If you are using your card abroad'.I've no plans to go abroad and am totally cheesed off with Tesco for making me think something is wrong with my card account but not explaining anything Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I genuinely believe this was tescos after reading this forum but they initially asked for my 3 digit security - very suspicious, so i told them i would ring back on the number on the back of my card.

The 01415374000 called me and asked me for personal details. I wasn't expecting any call from them so I declined to answer the as I had no way of checking the caller.

The 0845 number no longer works. Add 0345 in front of the number. 0345 366 1281.
