To be honest all of this is pointless.. I used to work in this type of industry, your numbers come from the national data base which TPS can't remove and call centres such as these aren't breaking any rules.. The only way to stop the calls is to say YOUR NOT INTERESTED...! Then it gets marked down then you will stop recieving calls, And people pretending that they live in a council homes doesn't work either as its in front of them that YOU are the homeowner,, they wouldn't phone you other wise.. Only like 1 in every 100 numbers is actually a council property. And iv witnessed this first hand.. TPS is a waste of money to be honest as it has no effect as legally their not breaking any laws. The TPS system is misunderstood by so many that are paying for it, when u would be a lot easier just saying not interested.. Saves everybody a hell of a lot of time .. Common sense really.

Well I know for a fact that you're wrong because I actually do live in a Council House and I still got phoned. TPS is a free service as well, incidentally. You don't *pay* for it in any other way than through taxes.

It would be a magical world indeed if companies would take "no" for an answer but in my experience they just continue to call, and occasionally get abusive. Now I just block them all on general principle. Makes my life far far easier.

Supposedly calling to confirm residence details for government solar energy grants, these annoying and persistent calls are simply an attempt to circumvent the TPS and thereby 'legitimise' any follow-up sales calls.
I raised a complaint with the ICO at the address below (but don't really expect it will make any difference).
Surely if enough people take the time to register the number as a nuisance, the ICO will have to take action eventually.

Company called Hot House Energy based in Blackburn generating  leads for SOLAR PANELS.

Called me today and said they were Penicuik the window firm.  When I complained about their calls I was given to a 'supervisor' who said they were from East Kilbride!! and that they check their numbers they call against the TPS register.  Lies.  I am with the TPS.
I have also had calls from Penicuik from 01415302135.
Is it Penicuik or another firm or firms attempting to avoid complaints against them??????

In reply to Sarah Jane.  I am not a home owner, never have been, and after their welcome chat they always ask if I am the home owner so there can't be a list in front of them.  It's just cold calling.

AGAIN...Hot energy call, told her I had my house already insulated, but she said that's not what she's  telling me...telling me indeed, cheeky mare, who do these people think they are..

Fed up with this caller, threatened to report them to TPS,what a joke!
Company did say they would take me off the list ,so I should have no more bother, we shall see.

Got a call from them this evening telling me they were from the Government and they had important information on Green Energy that they were obliged to tell me.  My claims of "I'm on TPS" meant nothing - THEM: "the goverment know we are doing this?"  " Are you the homeowner?"  ME: So the Government don't know if I am a houseowner?  THEM:<Click>

I called them back - they are HOTHOUSE Roof and Energy and they think it's "nice" if you are TPS, but that does not apply to them.  She asked me for my name, phone number and postcode to track down the call-handler.  ME: <Click>

Old scam. Curved Air Hot House. The ICO are investigating them, so be better off reporting the calls - the ICO fine persistent offenders. Could even be a bogus company. Data blaggers... after your data. Just hang up or even better, don't pick up. Criminals and tracing agents don't want you to contact the ICO. Report all unwanted calls:

On a bank holiday Monday.  For pete's sake, is there no rest from these people??

like u i get 3 or 4 calls from this annoying people ? everyday i am also registered with tps [no good at all, toothless] and i totally agree with u something should be done about this company a heavy fine would be just fine by me.

Live telesales call from the Hot House Energy Company. Trying to get me to take advantage of a government grant to cut energy bills etc. Wants to know if you own your house etc.

I'm fed up with these calls.  Why cant something be done about it.

The girl that called today said that it didn't matter if we were registered with the TPS or not, as they were only advising us of government incentives and are doing nothing illegal.  When I said that a company in Glasgow were fined £90,000 recently for the self same thing she replied that it never happened!

There seems to be no way of putting these people off.

All actually say that hot house energy aren't selling anything they're a government schemed  company who are actually trying to help you take full advantage of all goverment incentives that you are entitled to.  Now as energy saving company they don't send anything out in the post because they look after the cardon foot print now that's why they do the 2 minute call to yourself and whatever you do with the information is up to yourself!

I guess you, or someone close to you,work in a call centre or possibly even at Hothouse Energy!
