This number is Scottish Power debt collection based in Redditch. We have had numerous calls from them even though the final bill was paid online same day we received it in post. We changed over one month ago to Ebico after Scottish Power failing on every level with billing and customer service. We cleared these issues up immediately and switched suppliers as soon as we could. We expected to never hear from them again yet they pester us frequently from this number...one of the callers even looked it up on their system and seen the bill they were calling with regards to was actually paid on the date we said!! No apology and they still call us!!!!!!

This number called me but did not answer when I said hello, just hung up, I believe it to be Scottish power, as I had changed from them to the co-op because of bad customer service, just impossible to get through and speak to anyone and I tried many times, and is why I changed supplier, I may add that when I phoned the co-op they picked up the phone straight away,
I sent a letter requesting them not contact me again.

My SP account was closed and switched on 19th March. My account was in credit so they repaid me. All of a sudden i am being chased for £74 which is apparently outstanding on my account. I have tweeted their customer service who assured me they are looking into it and today i get a call from this number which judging by this forum is also Scottish Power chasing the 'debt'. Didnt answer!!

Phone number is Scottish Power. Changed to Ovo and Scottish Power sent final gas but not electric bill and now phone me daily.

Told the person I'd not received the electric bill but still try to charge me. A joke given I spent over an hour in one form or another last Tuesday phoning SP up to try and sort the bill and query why they hadn't sent the electric bill. They blamed Ovo saying they were withholding the final meter reading, which is rubbish as I supplied them both with it at the same time!

Scottish Power customer services are particularity rubbish - top tip, if you want to get through to a person, ring their sales team (the 'change to SP' option), they picked up after one ring, anything else will result in 30 minutes+ of being on hold.

This number is calling several times a day. I googled and found a lot of info online saying it was Scottish Power debt collection. We are currently in dispute with them and the Financial Ombudsman is dealing with it. I picked up and told them not to call again. They called back 4 hours later and left a message! I have reported the number and the harassment to the Financial Ombudsman who have told me they will contact Scottish Power and to ignore the calls. These continued nuisance calls are harassment and are very stressful. We have switched providers!

I also had a call from the number and they claimed they are from Scottish Power. The funny thing was I had called Scottish Power earlier in the day and settled my account - I was moving away from them. This suspicious caller asked me to give them some personal details including Date of Birth. That was when it set alarm bells ringing! I asked him for the number as I said I cannot be sure he is from Scottish Power, and he gave me the number  01527 419 134 /
I called Scottish Power and they informed me it is NOT from Scottish Power.  They said I was right NOT to give them any information as Scottish Power would not call me like that.
I also reported this to ACTION FRAUD  www.actionfraud.police.uk  0300 123 2040 as this seems to be a very suspicous call. At least, they can check and investigate to see what is happening. Of course, the police have many cases to check, and if more people report this number if they are suspicious, it may bring this case to the fore for the police attention of the police.
I suggest that anyone who get any suspicious calls or internet fraud to inform Action Fraud as there are many SCAMS about these days.

I called Scottish Power and they told me this number is NOT from them. For all we know , this is some sort of SCAM.
I have reported this Action Fraud  www.actionfraud.police.uk 0300 123 2040 . Who knows, these people may be trying all sorts of fraud. Identity theft comes to mind as they tried to ask me for my date of birth amongst other personal details. I refused to give them.
If you are concerned, I suggest perhaps you call Action Fraud too.

I keep getting calls from them too, they never leave a message. I changed from Scottish Power to Good Energy as they're cheaper and supply green energy (renewable). It's taken forever to get Scottish Power to send me a final account - they owe me money, but are claiming I owe them, using estimated reads. I've given them the actual reads, as has Good Energy. What a terrible company. Switch now!

I would love to know how that green energy stuff works, do you have special plugs that filter out the electricity from nuclear and coal fired power stations.

I didn't choose SCottish Power as my energy provider (a tenant at my house had changed to them without my knowledge or permission). After 8 months of chasing (as they didn't recognise me as a customer despite my explaining the situation re my ex renant) Scottish Power Bill FINALLY sent me a bill for energy supplied but only after I emailed the CEO and copied in a journalist who'd recently written an article on how abysmal SP are.

So, I get my bill just before Christmas Day and guess what? I made SP wait a few days until I got paid. I'm talking a week and Christmas day and Boxing Day meant that the payment wouldn't have gone through anyway. I paid Sunday and I'm now getting calls from this no which I've now blocked.

Scottish Power are an absolute joke. They wouldn't even be chasing me if I hadn't flagged up the fact they'd not sent me a bill in 8 months!

Debt collection calls are often "in house" when the so-called debt is fairly recent. As it costs so much to go down the debt collection/bailiff route for most companies - especially if the debtor cannot be traced.

Company policy is to deny that the calls have anything to do with the originating company - so that it scares people into paying up.

They'll have asked for your details because Data Protection law states they have to establish the identity of the caller before telling them that they are in arrears. You'd be surprised how many couples have no idea their partner is in financial difficulty and you can imagine if they inadvertently disclosed this info.

I only know this, because as a student I did telephone debt collection job for a mail order company (awful job :( and we had to pretend we were nothing to do with the originating company because we were told not to).

That said, I agree, that if you are in any doubt, then do not give out your details and hang up. A genuine company will send you letters to chase up if monies are owed. In Scottish Power's case they'll probably have got it wrong anyway!  Hope this helps.
