If you put that you had an accident into an insurance quote/comparison company for car/motorbike, then you will get a call from these guys who are ambulance chasers. I get calls from them after asking for a bike insurance quote off the MCN insurance or carole nash sites. Its what happens if you declare a non-fault accident on a comparison site.

They called me constantly and eventually did remove my number. I spoke to them three times and told them I had no personal injury!! Only for them to try and make me put through a fraudulent claim!! Would not recommend doing business with a company like this.. I have informed one of the solicitors they use!

I used to work at Chameleon so here's some info you might enjoy.

Your info comes mostly from car insurance quotations where you might have indicated you've made a claim in the last few years. This doesnt necessarily mean a crash. Could be fire, theft, vandalism or windscreen damage.
The info is passed over from the comparison site or insurer to Chameleon.
The reason they're allowed to call if you"re on the TPS is because its not strictly a sales call. If youve had an accident they just put you in touch with a solicitor.  They get paid by the solicitor if youre claim is accepted, so in the eyes of the Ministry of Justice theyre not charging you for their services.

With the asking you to confirm your name, thats just the law. Cos they're potentially discussing your personal info ie your accident, they have to confirm theyre speaking to the right person for Data Protection.

They're a genuine company who sort personal injury claims out. Pain in the [***] - yes, scam - no.

They VERY loosely follow the rules
(avoiding identifying themselves unless pushed very hard for details)

You can register a complaint that they are in breach of the Direct Marketing Code of Practice (Section 6.7) on the basis they are making "Percistent unwanted solicitations" and they MUST remove your details

I have had at least 200 calls now..Every day for months...Getting a bit p***ed off now..

I checked some bike insurance on compare the market.com and looked on the autotrader website for a friend of mine, since then I've had calls from this number.

You are cold calling! I never asked you to call and you are using genmeral information to sell a product on false basis.
