Got called by these money grabbing scumbags by the name of UK Claims People (www.ukclaimspeople.co.uk) with number deliberately shown as Unavailable despite the fact that their own website clearly shows them as being in Manchester with a phone number of 0161 667 1660.

They refused to say from the outset who they were or what the name of the person calling me was (I have learned before that with these more advanced and intelligent lead chasing centres for UK solicitors that they are now much more careful about revealing who they are and hang up immediately without revealing their identity if you mention the TPS, don't seem interested in their scam product or otherwise are rude about them calling you and disturbing you).  So I had to spend 15 minutes going through a survey about my banking to see if I might have been sold any add on monthly chargeable services to my current account that either I had not agreed to or that I had agreed to only because I had thought the provision of another product like a mortgage was contingent on also taking the additional service.  So on my account NatWest Account the extra package would be called Advantage Gold and involve things like annual travel insurance and breakdown cover.  I haven't actually missold the product but obviously I pretended I had so the caller would reveal who they were.

After I had played along with the female caller for (who was at least British English, pleasant in manner and had a clear easy to understand voice) she revealed that she was Ashley Durward and was calling on behalf of UK Claims People of 8th Floor, Beckwith House, Wellington Road, Stockport, SK4 1AF - email info@ukclaimspeople.co.uk - and said a claims pack would be sent to me in the post and to sign it and send it back so they could recover up to £2,500 of fees they said that I shouldn't gave paid.  However their commission rate for this so called "service" was 26% of any money they recovered.  She also tried to claim that I wouldn't be successful in reclaiming this money from my bank if I was to try to approach them directly myself without using their firm's services.

Make sure to report these deliberately TPS abusing scumbags to the TPS at https://complaints.tpsonline.org.uk/consumer and to the Information Commissioner at https://ico.org.uk/concerns/marketing/20/  Only if these scumbags are fined £500,000 a time like Nev Wilshire's The Call Centre in the BBC Three program of the same name will they ever get the message and desist from their fixed phone line customer harrassing activities.!!!

One would certainly hope that this Ashley Durward, who works as a Trainee Solicitor with Linklaters, is not one and the same person that called me.  Its just that it seems to a be very unusual name though.  192.com only has 2 birth records by this firstname and lastname combination in the whole of the United Kingdom.  And the person calling me certainly sounded like they understood technically complex legal matters.

However there are so far few reports on their new scam because they are so careful to not give out their number in their CLI (Unavailable) and will also not reveal who they are until you have been through a 15 minute interview to determine if you qualify to reclaim Packages Bank Charges.  Unfortunately only the very occasional person who absolutely hates unwanted TPS calls is prepared to go to this much trouble,.
