yes i keep getting these calls with the same prefix, its some company autodial machine, they dont have enough staff to take the calls that are being dialed so you get silence, no piont swearing or whistling down the phone. im going to see if i can barr the number as its very irritating when im waiting for an important call or its early morning when i do nightshifts! :-/ ps. i know it isnt a person as im getting texts from them too grrrrrr

I had a call from 01619 740232 - they called me yesterday and I told them to leave me alone. Called again today and they guy wanted to know about my mortgage I told him we did not want ppi calls and htat I work from home and it is doing my head in all these wasted calls, he was very insistent. i was just called by this number and a gentleman named joe said he was calling on behalf of 02 mobile phones company, he was quite persistant on getting hold of my bank details and offered me a 02 deal which sounded too good to be true, he also was asking me to set up a online service which he then said would i like to use my mums maiden name!!!! i am concerned about this and have a daunting feeling that he was part of a illegal scam that robs money via all my details,i half fell for this story and almost gave him details.

Received a cold-call from 0161 9390228 at 1535. Caller claimed to be "Mark" - with heavy Asian accent - from Beals Financial Services conducting a survey and advise me on future financial planning.  First off, caller used the incorrect company name - web search at the time proved that.  Moreover, legitimate company is based in southern England, the 0161 code is for Manchester.

They told me they were an emergency response team and wanted to call at my home to inform me what to do in an emergency. Said no way.
