- l d replies to Ade| 1 replythis scam company has just tried to con me for the sum of 114quid(which im not paying), they said it was in aid of The Foresters' Fund For Children. I basically believed them aswell thinking it would go to the CLASS M8 campaign etc. Im not paying and ive reported them to trading standards. They claimed they would put my small business ad in their CLASS M8 booklet and distribute it to 60,000 homes in my local area.
Apparently they are associated with a company called Vardis also. If you want to see more scam info on these just see blagger.com - Simon| 2 repliesAfter receiving a call from this number and many others that appear to be "scams" or others trying to extract money or information, it has become apparently clear that the number they call me on has only just been released and the only people that know it so far are the printers of my business cards. I ask you all if you have ever dealt with an on-line printer that starts with a "V". i ask you to contact me so that I can either discount them from enquiries or pursue further. I like most people do not like my information being "SOLD", So please reply and let this stop. Thanks
- Pinners replies to Claire reed dressmakerscan you prove that it has been sent to anyone else?? i could make you a booklet for £100 a give you a copy.... but you actually prove anyone else got it??? i'm always asking these people to send it to my address but they never actually ask what my address is, nor do i receive anything!!
- Stephen Smith| 1 replyNumber hidden, but same thing. Caller states they rep FFFC.org.uk, charity number checks out, but there account seem alittle odd.
DO NOT TRUST- Caller: FFFC
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- norwich locksmithsthis number called me today saying they were a a firm of bailiffs who often have to break in to places and were looking for locksmiths in my area. told them to email me details - not heard from them.
- Caller: dont know
- KMPS replies to SimonFunny you should say that, got my business cards printed last week with the same printing firm starting with "V" and that's when the calls from this number started.
- do not believe them - con merchants replies to l dVISION PUBLICATIONS GROUP OR VARDIS.. ARE CON MERCHANTS..
Do not believe when they say they are distributing the charity ad campaign.. its PURE LIES.!! they send ONE SINGLE brochure out to you with OLD OLD OLD ads of other people/businesses that they have conned into advertising with them previously.. and when you ring these businesses they either no longer trade or do not even exist.. OR WHEN ASKED THEY SAY THAT THEY HAVE REPORTED VISION PUBLICATIONS GROUP TO TRADING STANDARDS OR THE POLICE.!!!
Whoever believes those previous positive comments on this site about them are deluded and very misled as they are probably posted by MARK ANDREWS the manager of vision group..
They have a appeared on WATCHDOG before they changed their name from vardis.. Plus when you actually phoned their office, they just simply say an hesitant 'HELLO' = professional business or what, i dont think.!!!!! - jim replies to Ade| 3 repliesjust had a call from a unknown no. saying they were the fffc asking me if i wanted to promote my business in a magazine delivered in my area, michael caine was mentioned, i asked them to send me a copy of the magazine ,how can i check if they are real and the magazine is real and will be distributed ?
- julienottobe scammed replies to Stephen SmithI quite agree the fffc are definitely suspicious- their accounts are very odd and I have been unable to contact them direct- i think there is a very good chance they are a smokescreen for Vision. Having eventually been sent a copy of their so called M8 magazine (incidentally the same one that showed on the fffc website from 2008) I rang around all the schools in the area and they had never heard of. On the next cal from Vision I just laughed at them, asked how they could sleep at night and told them to stick it. Haven't heard from them since!!
- PicselGochLtdI have received a call from FFFC asking if I was interesed in advertising space in their magazine. I was extremely suspicious about them and have challenged them into confirming specific details about their company. I have rang up their supporters and affiliates and Company House, they all confirmed this is a genuine cause.
After doing a lot of research and checking, they seem legit and I have taken the liberty to go ahead and take the offer. They send you an invoice and info pack.
If you are unsure, do your research first before reporting them as a scam.
I am the managing director of my company and it is vital to do research into cold callers as most of them are scams and waste of time.
Hope this helps people. Remain vigilant :)- Caller: FFFC

- john replies to jim| 2 replieshave nothing to do with these people, the same thing happend to me,i refused to pay as i could not find their so called magazine anywhere in my area. They threaten you with court action, bailiffs and your credit rating.
- Jules| 1 replyI would suggest that you should all be careful in using the words 'scammers' to be honest - there is a potentilaity on the facts as stated and on the positive reviews for defamation suits from Vison.
Regards
Jules - dave replies to john| 1 replyHi my names dave i think iam being scammed could you tell me if i dont pay this bill can they still take action
- Facts replies to dave1. The consensus on the Consumer Action Group is a clear NO:
http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?151539-Vardis-Advertising-%5Bproblem%5D!/page2
2. Google Vardis + Forresters www.google.co.uk/search?q=vardis+forresters
- the first story is http://blogs.mirror.co.uk/investigations/2007 ... arity-scam.html
- the remainder are all similar
- the bottom of the Google search page says:
"Searches related to vardis forresters
vardis scam
vardis publications" - Facts replies to Jules"I would suggest that you should all be careful in using the words 'scammers' to be honest - there is a potentilaity on the facts as stated and on the positive reviews for defamation suits from Vison."
I agree. Vardis must be very busy suing all the newspapers, bloggers, forums and individuals:
www.google.co.uk/search?q=vardis+forresters+scam that it is extraordinary that they have time to do anything else. - Malcolm replies to SimonHello, after having cards printed with an online printer beginning with 'v', and my details being posted on the gas safe register website, I was contacted by Vision group and foolishly agreed/paid for an advert. Never again, sickens me to think the money went into lining some guys pockets and not to helping the kids or providing me with advertising.
- Inspector Clouseau replies to Abc child care servicesSomething tells me Abc child care services, Claire reed dressmakers, James and Fred Mills all extolling the virtues of this company are all exactly the same person.
Four posts typed in exactly the same manner. Don't be fooled.
