Yes good idea to shun ALL cold callers. Just hang up or even better, don't pick up. Criminals don't want us to contact the ICO. The more scam and spam calls and texts reported to the ICO, the sooner the number holder is investigated and fined if they are using our data without our consent or trying to blag data from those stupid enough to answer their questions. Hang up on cold callers. It could be anybody. A genuine company will simply write. Visit www.actionfraud.police.uk to report attempted and actual fraud.

This number and also 07937 941006 appear to come from the same company.  They will not give the name of the company they are calling from unless you really insist.  They will say they are from the 'changed tenancy dept'.  I have lived at my home address for 12yrs and only once I registered a business website from my home address did I start to get these calls so I assume they are getting details from Nominet. They say that you have recently taken over a business premises, which in my case is not true!  When pressed they will identify themselves as Energy Save or National Utilities and say that you have to register your details for energy supply.  It is clearly a scam to try to get you to switch to their energy services.  Do not answer!

Annoying and rude as heck! Energisave 'Vicky' lying about the list they supposedly have, which is obviously fake given the number of posts on here, in order to try and get business, shows utter lack of common integrity and understanding of consumers and general decent practice. Business is not about trying to con people or pretend you have something you do not, I would never deal with such a place and recommend you don't, either. Saving me money, ha ha ha what rubbish.

Called saying they were 'meter registrations', obviously trying to sign you up to a different Electric / Gas supplier. Then called on numerous mobile numbers when I blocked the main one (mostly registered to Jersey, think this is because I told them I was TPS registered).

Company is as bad as the old style door to door sales staff, bordering on stalker behaviour!!

Yep I've had the same problem the first couple of calls I got was from 01772674300, and it they were asking about the electric. I did give the any information as lucky I didn't get to the phone in time, and googled the number and found these posts. However since then I'm getting anywhere between two and ten calls a day all from different numbers asking the same sorts of questions. The phone numbers almost always end in 006 even though the area codes are different every time. Its getting to the point where I don't want to answer the phone.

Left me a voicemail on the work mobile which had been put on my new business Facebook page for a day they said my landlord notified them and gave them my phone number - I sublet my premises from my boyfriend - his landlord doesn't have my details. When I pointed this out the young man, Paul lowler, became very irate because I wouldn't give him the details of my business and evade he couldn't answer my simple questions of where did u get my number and what company are you calling from? He ended up screaming and being abusive and told me well someone will keep ringing until you give us you company details!!  - I told him if he was from a reputable company then his customer service was disgusting and a disgrace and I hung up - AVOID THIS COmPANY AT ALL COSTS!!!

Had a couple of calls from this number.

The one this morning went on with the usual stuff about them being set up by Ofgem to stop small busniesses being ripped off by energy suppliers when they move premises.

He said that in order to prevent us from being on an extremely high default tariff the meter needed reading. When I told him that was done last week he corrected himself to say it needed registering.

I have just had an identical from 01622 248006 which is a local exchange so I don't know if they're now also farming out their calls.

I suspect they are getting some of their information from business facebook pages as that is the only place I have mentioned I will soon be moving into new premises!  I just told them I was not moving premises and they hung up.

I got a call from Karen Hadley who was very polite and new what she was talking about I was with British gas on default bills and karen switched me to opus now my bills are half they were thanks karen & energie save

Someone called me from this number today, would not provide their names, only stated that their companies name is 'Electricity and Gas change of tenancy". They also said that my details were provided to them by my proposed landlord of the premises. They also stated wrong trading name of my company. This could easily get companies under the fraud.

This is scam number.

Just received a call from a guy saying he was acting on behalf of all UK gas and electric suppliers, from the the electricity and gas change of tenancy organisation set up by Ofcom and didn't I receive their letter???
I pointed out that there was no way he could be representing ALL companies as that would be a conflict of interest, but how strange they should be set up by Ofcom when Ofcom is a regulator of the UK communications industries, NOT UTILITIES.
So this was a very strange sales pitch, but welcomed him to carry on and let me know exactly what he was trying to sell............He said they're not, selling anything, or on commission, but paid a fee by each of the Utility companies at the beginning of the year, so they could make sure all new customers were on the best tariff. I said it all sounded very generous of them to be so caring of others, but how come no one had heard of any such scheme by "OFCOM"
So as this was overtly conspicuous, I Googled them while he was reeling off his pack of lies. When I pointed out that no such company existed, he said please hold while I check the web address......then cut me off! Just when I was enjoying myself too!!!
Totally Hilarious, but how utterly disgraceful to try and hang onto the reputation of a regulatory body, and how stupid to use the name of one not even relating to the correct industry!!! Brilliant fun, but I dare say all too many vulnerable people will fall for this bag of bile!!!
PS: I believe The also ring from 07937941006 too! Block both these numbers, it's a bloody scam
And go under a variety of names including Utilities Direct, National Utilities, Business Utilities, direct utilities,  National Utility company, The New tenants Gas & Electricity company, the electricity and gas change of tenancy organisation uk blah blah and so on.......

I've not even taken on a lease yet I'm being called with regard my utilities by said number 01772674300. I've never answered but I'm always getting voice mails from them saying my energy is about to switch.
