Just had a call from 01792828791, a telesales office in Swansea regarding PPI refunds, I just told the lady I have had all my PPI refunded, she said "OK, thanks, have a nice day" so in all fairness, they're just doing their job. I have no idea where they got my mobile number from, but telesales are there to do just that, getting angry with these guys is not the way to go. It's the companies that sell them your data!

Just had a call telling me how much I could get from store cards etc. The gentle man quoted an amount. I would receive, when I asked how he knew he said he had info. In front of him that told him I was entitled to that kind of money. Then he asked for my card number and 3 digit number. At this point I said I did not feel confortable to goive him that info. He started getting. Shirty with me. I told him I wasn't interested and hung up.

I have just received a call on my mobile from the above number.  She said who she was and why she was calling but spoke so quickly and there was so much noise going on behind her that I had to stop her and ask her to start again.  She said her name was Carley and she was calling from Iphonics Refund department in Swansea, this explained her very thick Welsh accent.  She gave me the whole spiel about being licensed by a government department and was I aware of the refunds available from banks and lenders for Payment Protection Policies, I said yes.  She said well why haven't you claimed then, is it because you are not aware or that that you don't know how to.  I told her I had worked in the banking industry for many years and I would never ever have taken out such a policy and have never had one so why would she think I would need to claim.  She said I had passed my information on to them and that I qualified.  I told her at no time had I ever given iphonics any of my personal information or telephone numbers nor had I asked them to phone me, so essentially she was cold calling me and that was illegal.  She told me it wasn't illegal because they had gotten my information from a Data bank, and because my information was there I had to have given permission to allow it to be passed on.  i told her this was extremely unlikely but there where firms out there, eg Insurance companies who sell their customer lists on, and that I had no way of controlling this but advised her that the information they hold on me is incorrect as I do not and have never had any PPI so could not possibly make a refund claim on it. I also added could she please remove all my information from their Data base as it is incorrect and I had not given permission for it to be there.  She told me it wasn't a cold call because I had given permission to receive her call even if I was in denial about that fact.  I said excuse me but I think you haven't listened to me when I have told you I don't have PPI, and never have had PPI so I cannot qualify and don't want my name on your Data Base, so please stop telling me that I gave permission for your call.  She said I have to keeping repeating myself because you are not listening to me.  Oh I said I have written down everything you said,at that she said you're still not listening and hung up.

I just had a phone call from Stuart (very Welsh) on this number. He was asking for my husband and turned shirty when I asked what it was about (I think I probably know more about data protection than he does...). He was indeed from 'Get Claiming'. I'm full of cold and he said he couldn't understand me, which could be true - quite an interesting case of reversing the usual state of play!

I have formally requested for the last two comments to be removed from this website as populated by a friend "Do not give any details to anyone from this business... FRAUD!" as she may have responded in a way which left me scared and vulnerable. She did not want anyone else treated or to feel this way.

    Let me elaborate:

I was contacted by the organisation this morning via cold calling. I apparently fit the criteria for a PPI refund. After 30 mins and two representatives of providing debt/figure information I was requested to provide bank card information of an active credit card. I asked for there to be paperwork sent to me as I felt this was not appropriate to provide bank card information over the phone to a caller who called me, the 2nd caller said that was not possible to send this information via post and that there was clear 'Trust issues' between myself and them. Nothing could be taken from my accounts without further information. This was said in a condescending fashion.

Rightly or wrongly, I gave over card information as I felt I was being 'silly', 'I was doubting this man' and he made me feel like 'he knew.. I didnt!'

I didn’t know who was calling me... They could have been a company using a false name / CRM Number to obtain Credit Card information.

The caller did provide me with information from the Gov/Justice Website but it was not showing as their organisation initially - Get Claiming.

    It showed as: Cerys-angharad LTD.CRM24389

After a further click it showed as Trading as 'Get Claiming, Ifonic Claims'.

Whilst this does appear to be a legitimist business and registered, I was not happy with the tactics used: 'Trust Issues'. Bullying, an overpowering condescending attitude.
Whilst on the phone I read information on this website about obtaining card information.

I personally did not feel confident with the conversation, how it was handled or where it was going. I ended the call, and wished the caller a good day.
I panicked, notified by Bank immediately, highlighted my concerns and cancelled my card.

I can only give feedback on my own personal feelings, how it affected me and how it made me feel.

Since then the caller has called back requesting this information to be removed of which I have requested to be done with this website administrator.

I have since blocked their number and do not require any further contact from them.

I wish anyone reading this information, to use your judgement. The company is registered on the Gov / Justice Website. They are an existing business. Maybe its just there customer service which needs to be revisited to prevent customers feeling vulnerable and scared.

There is so much information in the press about Companies who take your card number, a fee and never produce any goods for that fee. I was not prepared to take any risks and be a victim of potential fraud.

I have since contacted my bank and started PPI claiming myself. Thank you for helping me to do this 'Get Claiming'.

I wish 'Get Claiming' and there staff all the best.

Thank you for your time reading this.

I was having the same problem! It is this company: http://www.ors.org.uk/home.php. All I did was hit the contact us and sent an email saying "REMOVE MY DETAILS FROM YOUR DATABASE. YOU HAVE THE ILLEGALLY AND IF YOU PERSIST IN CALLING I WILL TAKE THE MATTER UP WITH MY SOLICITOR".

The response I recieved: Thank you for your e-mail.  As per your request we have added your number to the permanent ‘Do Not Contact’ list we maintain.  This should ensure that you receive no more calls from Opinion Research Services attempting to undertake social research with you.

Never heard from them again! Be proactive people!

I'm ex directory.  How do they get my ph.no ??? I am also registered with the telephone preference service.
I regard this cold calling as an invasion of my privacy.  This data protection thing seems to be very much on the wrong side.

    @Gibster

You seem to have gotten a slightly suspect PPI call centre confused with a legitimate social research outfit who call from the numbers 01792 828958, 01792 674980, and 01792 348614.  These numbers are clearly stated on their website which you linked to.

Received a cold call from Cerys-Angharad (?spelling?) two years ago (July 2013), saying they could claim £8000 - £9000 back for me, PPI etc. I foolishly gave my credit card details for them to take £990 up front charge, which would be refunded if they couldn't claim more than enough to cover that figure. I insisted on this last bit before going ahead & actually got it in writing!! After this payment went out, I hastily replaced my credit card so they couldn't collect more as I was feeling uneasy about them! After much chasing & getting excuses, we eventually received a payment of £1193-46 from our bank. However, we had to pay the company £315-07, so were still out of pocket & had paid interest on the original £990 as we couldn't afford to pay it off in one go (we're pensioners). I've phoned every few months since this started, only to be told they were waiting to hear from companies involved or other excuses. Then in March 2014, we received a letter from Ifonic PLC in London, who said they had taken over the customers of Cerys-Angharad (trading as Ifonic Claims). Between March & April 2014 I was given a new phone number to contact them but still got the people in Wales! Forgot to say that in the beginning I also had to provide a £10 cheque for each of the companies they contacted on our behalf, so more money paid out!
Have tried phoning today 3/7/15 but the old number (0845-867-8770) leaves a message giving the new number (0844-484-6360) & this new number has a message saying "This number has not yet been assigned"!!! The London number for Ifonic PLC (020-7043-1410) says "Please hold while I transfer your call - call transfer failed", so I think this is the end of the line & we won't hear anymore from them, they seem to have gone to ground - I wonder why?
My message: If they do still exist, DON'T TOUCH THEM WITH A BARGE POLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
