This is definitely a scam - God knows what they want and as someone says it is a Winchester number - just down the road from me. I have had at least ten of these nuisance calls and getting pretty fed up.

This is a Winchester Hospital number. If you have ever worked for them - they want money!! I worked for them in 2007 and they are now asking me for overpaid wages back!

Strange thing  to 'phone about.  If you have an alternative number for Winchester Hospital or the people who paid your wages, ring that. Ask them to confirm, in writing, what they are saying. Tell them that when you receive the written request you will look into thw matter and take advice.  Do not pay anything on the strength of a 'phone call. Sounds like a scam.

I received a call from this number today although i was not able to answer the phone, when I then tried to call the number back it would not connect?

Its the RHCH Hospital in Winchester.If you phone the switchboard on 01962 863535 they will confirm it is a generic number for the Hospital used for phones that have incoming calls barred.

This is NOT a scam and is indeed a generic phone number used by the Hants County Hospital to contact patients (but a number which will not receive calls back).  If you get a call from this number, you shuold indeed check with the hospital to see if they have e.g. cancellation appointments for anything you have been waiting for (as with us).

This number is indeed owned by the Royal Hampshire County Hospital (RHCH) in Winchester.

If you're getting a call from them, it will probably be regarding an appointment, patient research or vocal delivery of any test results from a previous appointment or consultation.

The only problem is that if you call this number (825999), it won't necessarily go where you want. It's an old number that is occasionally displayed as the caller ID, and does not accept incoming calls. I'm not sure why they don't accept incoming calls, but if you want to get back in contact with whomever you spoke to and you don't have their direct line, please call the RHCH Switchboard on 01962 863535, and an operator will be able to patch you through to the person you need.

i had this number call me on my mobile and landline went to ring them back and all i got was a wrong number tone

It is a number for Winchester hospital but it's a call out number only which is routed through their switchboard, so it could be from almost any department within the hospital.  Not sure where the Indian connection comes from, as I answered a call from the number only minutes ago and it's was defiantly the hospital.

It is Winchester hospital trying to arrange appointments, this was for my husband to let him know they had managed to fit him in at short notice for a barium x-ray , it is NOT a scam o.O

I missed the call the first time and tried to call back, the number cannot received incoming calls. They called back an hour later and it was Winchester Hospital booking me in for an appointment. Very helpful and not at all dodgy.
