I can tell you with certainty as a former employee of Albert Holmes.

This company is a complete "boiler room".

    Here's my experience.

A job was advertised on the juniorbroker.co.uk website offering over 200k a year. So as a young ambitious lad i applied and got the job, well a 1week trail. The deal after was a "self employeed" role with a 1k a month retainer.

It is/was based on Lombard Crescent in an old building at the end. The job description stated that the had their own four story office building to themselves in central London, which was true. But only when you considered the ground floor contained the staircase and the top floor was a kitchen, just large enough for a table, it was all a bit of a statement. The first and second floors housed two small open floors about 200sq each that contained 10 brokers crammed in on each.

On my first week, i sat beside another new guy on the first floor. (he lasted 3 days) We where given a script to read out over the phone. "Hello Mr, XXXXX,  Its XXXXX from Albert Holmes i hope you are well" it started. The script was about two pages long and contained a number of possible outcomes and stuffed full of spelling mistakes. We where then asked to contact a list of investors, who had expressed an interest in carbon credits, known as leads. These leads where issued over the computer network from Steve Shelby, so for example the computer screen would say for example "Mr Jones" contact number "45646XXXXX". If someone answered we would start into our script, and leave a comment on the computer what the outcome was."

I can say that i contacted thousands of these leads in my time there and not one person had requested a call from a carbon broker or knew anything about it. I know this because i tended to deviate from the script more than often. Moreover i was able to see that total amount of leads on their system displayed in the computer software, it was about 250,000. The total  of many subcategories. I remember some of them where called things like " ISAs/ Savings Investors"  "'Oil and Gas Investors" and many other subcategories that had nothing to do with carbon.

The scripts 2nd or 3rd line read "You where contacted by my colleague not so long ago." This implied that the call was not a cold call and was following up on a lead. This was total lies, there had not been any previous call. To make matters worse i would say about 30% percent of all the calls i made where of deceased individuals, and by that mostly within the last 5 years. Often these calls where answered by family members and loved ones. In fact the other guy who started at the same time as me left because he had called 3 people in a row that where all deceased, the third call was answered by a family member during the wake of the deceased individual, causing much distress to my colleague and the person at the other end of the phone. I called everyone that someone can think of at all different types of bogus addresses, one after another. I called Chinese restaurants, firestations, mental insitutions, all looking for people that didn't exist and i'm sure didnt have a clue what a carbon credit was, nor express any interest in them.

The leads where all rubbish and lies, lies to the brokers and lies to those potential investors. Created from a lieing scirpt.

In my second week, i was having extreme doubts about the whole thing i had made about 10 leads on my list of around 1000 calls i had made, these people where often  the very kind accommodating by nature characters, who genuinely where more interested in being facilitative than investing (The real kind that don't deserve being a sucker on an albert holmes lead list). It was the same story for all the other young guys that worked there. Up until this point there had been no effort by any senior members to explain what a carbon credit was, or any of the mathematics, fundamentals, investment research behind them, suitability for clients, etc. So i decided to do some research and find out what research the firm had done. To my surprise by that Monday lunchtime, i realized nobody knew a thing about them, just things they had read from their copy of that script, when i asked a Steve Shelby, he told me i didn't need to know that sort of thing. Another broker that had been there several months, overheard this and warned me not to ask difficult questions and advised me to keep my mouth shut or i would face the music. He also told me that every week steve shelby would get new young guys in on a "trail" and use them to cold call assisted with the script and then tell them they didn't get the job. Then he would contact their leads the following week, this effectively gave him up to 10 free lead generators.

That afternoon, i secretly emailed the names and contact numbers of all my leads to myself. And when i got home i contacted them all from my mobile phone, telling them not to trust Albert Holmes. That was my 6th and last day with Albert Holmes.

I have since left London, a wiser person.

I will keep my details private, but if anyone requires me to testify in a court of law for the practices i witnessed at Albert Holmes and i am happy to do  and bring them to justice.

Waste of Space replies to Daniel Smith - Fraudster
A successful City trader who demanded £7,500 to drop assault charges against two business rivals was spared jail today (MON) after a judge heard he is now living on benefits with his mum. Daniel Smith, 33, was beaten and repeatedly stamped on by Ian Bellis and Perry Bliss in a row over stolen clients. CCTV footage caught the two attackers brutally attacking Smith in broad daylight in April last year when he confronted them over £68,000 in alleged lost earnings. Four months later, Smith, who was an equity trader at Park Caledonia Associates, sent the two men a text message offering to drop the charges if they paid him compensation for lost earnings. - See more at: http://courtnewsuk.co.uk/newsgallery/?public_id=41725#sthash.DbcEnnF0.dpuf

I worked with Dan a popular good guy in the city well known by worthy people, upset and annoyed by crooks, I to have experience with Steve shelly and cost me dearly I heard these to fell out Dan went after him for none payment.  Who would go to work pay a train fair and not be angry, Shelly then called the police. Dan got out at the right time with smaller damage the other brokers that were ripped off 10,000s while investors left ripped off seriouse amounts of money. This included shelly laughing taking down an old guy he left work to walk down the bank. I heard this but lets be honesty no smoke without fire. I think the internet speaks for itself. Everything about him I know is true and probably not safe in the sq mile or healthy to employ.
