Was rang by this number, talking  to a blatently indian man called 'brian baker, calling from a company called cheap loans uk', who told me i had been approved for a 5000pounds loan, over three years, monthly repayment being £165. As my credit rating wasn't great, he wanted the first months repayment as a deposit which i payed. Then he said I needed to pay £175 as processing fee which would automatically be transferred back to me along with the 5000, and he guaranteed this 5175 would be in my account as soon as i payed the £175, which i did. thirty minutes later, still nothing? so i rang up, and he said the minimum transfer fee was 5300, which really i knew was a load of crap, but i had already lost £340 so i paid another £125. Now they are saying the transaction has declined because he tried 10+ times to transfer when the amount was under 5300. So my options are according to them, that i can either pay an extra £100 to unblock the transaction, or i can pay £55 to get my £465 back. I have recently found out they arent a company, they are giving fake addresses and they have had hundreds of victims. the police are on the case!!!!

Do not pay any money to those people. They offered me a loan and asked for first instalment upfront. I asked for their address and they said its 53 Fountain Street in Manchester and so it happens it is a large complex of offices to rent! No loan company is registered at that address with the FSA WHICH BY LAW THEY HAVE TO! ASKED TO SEND ME PAPERWORK WITH KEY FACTS ILLUSTRATION (also required by law) and they ahve refused to do so until I pay and have a loan in my account. also the apr he quoted did not match the repayments!

Action Fraud also have the following advice on loan scam fees:
    http://www.actionfraud.org.uk/node/240

Loan scams happen when a victim is asked to pay an upfront fee for a loan.

A person will typically reply to an advert for a fast loan and will have their application approved regardless of their credit history. Before they receive the loan, they are told them must pay an upfront fee to cover insurance for the loan.

Once this fee is paid, the victim does not hear from the company again and the loan is never received.
Loan scams are a type of advance fee fraud.

Fraud has been committed when money has been lost.

If fraud has been committed, report it to Action Fraud.

People in debt conned out of cash in fake loan scam
National charity Citizens Advice is warning people to beware of companies offering fake loans for a fee. The companies often prey on people who are already in debt and desperate for a way out.
    Advice
Citizens Advice top tips on fake loans:
    • Never pay money up front
    • Never give out bank account details to cold callers
    • Be very wary of cold calls offering loans, and internet sites offering quick and easy credit
    • If it looks too good to be true it usually is
    • If you need credit, shop around, use a trusted source and always check the paperwork
    • If you’ve already paid money up front for a non-existent loan, inform Trading Standards (www.tradingstandards.gov.uk). The Consumer Credit Act says that all but £5 of any brokerage fees should be refunded if no loan is taken up within 6 months.

Just had these guys on to me, got suspicious about the month up front, thing, saying they are based at 28/29 Haymarket London. Wanted £330 up front payment.

I decided to research it first before paying, and found your comments.

Thankyou all for saving me some badly needed cash.

I have recieved a call that my loan of 8000 is approved. They asked me to pay a processing fee of 250. Then the asked me to pay 300 as first is instalment. I paid that after they asked me to pay the unblocking fee of 400. I paid them that fee. After they start asking me to pay the solicitor fee of 300 pound. Then i got suspicious and i try to find out that what is this. I searched online before making any more payments. Then I found about this website. They called me again to get more money. Then asked them to give me my money back and they said that if i want my money back i have to  pay 150 pounds more to get my money. When i got angry on the girl named veronica dawson she cut the phone. Then i called the action fraud and told them about the whole story. The police is looking into this case. I pray for that guy who made the website that ` God Bless him .

I have recieved a call from cheap loans uk, offering me £8000 over three years at 6.8%.
I thought this sounds too good to be true, so i have done some research, they have a website that offers no contact numbers, i called the number they rang from and had a answer machine with no company name or details.
They advised me to purchase a UKASH voucher to make the 1st instalment.....
They are going to call me back to get the voucher number...watch this space
