- John Amey| 1 replyCalled me today (Oct 21 2013)
Call was silent for 15 seconds then went dead. I called it back from an IP phone, so no cost to me, and I got music and the usual 'Your call is important to us, please wait for the next available agent' I held on for 2 minutes then hung up.
If anyone knows the name of this company, please post it here, I've got a TON of junk mail I need to get rid of, and I'll sign them up for every spam website I can find.
Thanks - AndyTrying to sell washing machine insurance/cover plans. What is really annoying is that they try to make it sound not like a sales call, and launch straight into "we'll send you out our plans".
The sales people are also quite passive-aggressive. I was very polite (particularly given that I get about 2-3 of these calls a day at the moment). The operative starts grilling me on what I'd do if my washing machine breaks down, to which I politely ask why she should be concerned about that.
I'm so fed up of these calls now.- Caller: Go Assist

- Mr GrumpyJust had these jokers, From a company called Garrett Assistance! Guess what... there isn't such a company.
Wanted to offer and extended warranty on a Hotpoint washing machine... Errhh... no, haven't even got a Hotpoint.
CLOWNS! - sallyThis company is called Go Assist. The woman was talking about my washing machine warranty and was trying to get out of me when it ran out. Con artist. Avoid like the plague.

- Mandy| 2 repliesThis number called me a couple of days ago trying to flog a warranty. When l said no, politely, l was subjected to the most disgraceful sales line - suggesting that l might not be able to buy presents if my telly breaks down. Quite apart from the fact it is none of their business, how dare they. I have reported them to the manufacturer comcerned.

- Andy replies to MandyYes, they used that kind of tactic with me as well - seems a simple "no" isn't good enough and they're desperate for their commission. Not from me.
- Julian replies to MandyHad the same thing. I politely said no numerous times but he wouldn't take that for an answer and said I'd be wasting loads of money if i didn't take out their policy. Pointed out that that would be a waste of money too but he wouldn't accept it so I told him to go 'foxtrot' himself and hung up
- David Norfolk| 3 repliesYes. This company is called Go Assist. I was rung today by someone from this company attempting to sell me an extended warranty on my make of TV set. They only way they could have known that I had bought this make of TV 2 years ago was that I foolishly agreed to provide some answers, 2 to 3 days ago, to a gentleman, from South Asia (?). He was conducting what turned out to be a telephone sales lead survey. I refused to confirm my name, address and telephone number and then hung up after answering some questions, including what was the make of my TV, when “I just need one minute of your time sir" had become 5 minutes. Despite that evidently this limited personal information has been quickly given to Go Assist to use for cold-calling purposes.

- Daavid Norfolk replies to David Norfolk| 1 replyFollow up I have reported the company to the Telephone Preference Service. I can find no trace via Google of any organisation called Go Assist so not even a genuine company?.
- DanJust received a call from this number. They said my washing machine warranty had expired and asked if this was correct. I replied that I have no idea. He then asked me how old the washing machine was. I politely told him that if he knew that the warranty was expired, he should know how old the machine was and put the phone down.

- jeffb replies to Laurence LoiExactly the same as me I am registered with TPS, I think that any calls that these ignorant people make you should be able to phone them back. preferably the private number of the CEO so I can call him at night.
- RuthStranger calling unsolicited to ask if my insurance on my TV has expired. He knew the make. I said the line was too bad to understand him and asked him to spell the name of his company. He said he will ring back.
- PaulI love these clowns. I just leave the phone off the hook.
- SallyI am getting fed up with constantly being bombarded with nuisance calls. They just don't give up. This seems to have got worse since I got scammed by the so called microsoft techicians. If I answer the phone now I don't say anything and leave them hanging on but mostly I don't answer it at all.
