Got a call today about extending our TV warranty (quoted the correct address) as it was coming up to a year old. I told him that it had a 3 year warranty so he said he'd update his records and rang off.  Where do these people get our names, addresses and telephone numbers from?

I received a call asking about the make of my television, washing machine etc I just made answers up as realised it was all a scam. The next day I received a call about the warranty on my 'television' . When I said that it was strange that I had received the previous call and it seemed a bit suspicious the caller hung up.

Got a call from this number informing me my Bosch washing machine was out of warranty.

He then proceeded to try to sell me a monthly service plan covering all repairs for all my domestic appliances
Not having a Bosch washing machine I asked for the name of the company he was calling from.
It is called Go Assist and it also has a freephone number 0800 8654111 and web site.
    Go Assist   sales@go-assist.co.uk
If you want to send any junk mail you should use the following address:
Go Assist Ltd. Richmond House, Richmond Hill, Bournemouth, BH2 6EZ.

    Hope that is some help.

I can't believe I've had 12 missed calls from this company in the last 2 days! I finally got to speak to someone tonight and the young lady said she was from Go Assist and she was aware the warranty had run out on my Hotpoint washing machine. I advised that yes it's Hotpoint, but it's not a washing machine and she started to stutter. Oh dear, I got her flustered. (It's actually a washer drier). I politely advised her that I wasn't interested in anything to do with her company and not to call this number again as I'm ex-directory for a reason and haven't requested her company to contact me so please do not ring again, said goodbye and ended the call before she had a chance to say anything else. Will it stop them ringing me?? Time will tell

English sounding woman called,  telling me the insurance was due for renewal on my Toshiba TV.     I have never in my life taken out insurance on any domestic appliance!!!  Insurance is a rip-off.  Told her so.
"Oh, but what if it goes wrong?"   she says.
"Then I go buy a new one!!  TVs are cheap these days.  Bye"
Hung up with a grin.  Blocked the number with my free talktalk number blocking service.

GPS unfortunately cannot stop all calls, especially the annoying ones from India etc just don't answer them

If you are still confused, the GPS system is not able to stop ANY calls.     It is good for your Satnav, though.

I did the same thing a couple of days ago I answered a few unimportant questions like a nob head, my phones not stopped ringing for two days, I bet I've had 18 or 20 calls in 2 days, it's a joke, theses people aren't even put off by abuse.

This number keeps calling my mobile and ex directory house phone.  Last time they called my mobile I answered it and left in the kitchen widow so all they got was the noise of my dogs barking. When I went back to the phone 10 mins later they had ended the call.

just had a polite chap telling me my tv insurance had ran out when I asked him which one he said (Samsung) so I thought ok but we have insurance anyway, but then I realised my girlfriend did a survey the other night only giving the briefest of details (nothing personal) but one of the questions was 'what is your make of tv' and lo and behold we get a telly insurance caller, my advice is don't do any survey's as they are all in cahoot's.

TPS is NOT a call blocking service.  It is a voluntary code signed up to by reputable UK based companies who agree not to call registered numbers.  Rogue UK based companies ignore it and it does not cover International, Withheld and Unavailable numbers or Market Research calls.  If you get a call from a UK based company you have to report it to TPS but, to do so, you need the name or the calling company as well as the 'phone number  If you do not have the company name or if you report it to TPS and they continue to call, the report it to the Information Commissioner's Office.  They have the power to impose fines up to £500,000 and, under the new law from ASpril this year, only need one complaint to start the ball rolling.

I also had a call regarding a bosch washing machine regarding the extension of my guarantee.  She asked for my pin number which luckily I realised I should not give to her.
