- xyzVery wierd. Just received an email from the person. describing where the interview is and time same as what was discussed on the phone. She gave the directions too on the email, but surpirsingly no contact detail. Very wierd
ps:it does say email from email address @chequepointm.com .. ? - HenryThe calls are from a company called Chequepoint. There web address is: www.chequepoint.com (very slow web page so it will take time to appear on your screen). Its a bureau de change business and it seems they have a very high staff turnover so they keep on advertising roles as no one seems to last there.
You will either be called for a group interview as a part time cashier or some other job title ranging from chauffeur to some administration job. They are based in a converted house directly opposite Gloucester Road tube station. For the first visit you will be interviewed by a plump American woman (in her grotty little office at the back of the bureau) who is their HR manager (in an HR department consisting of herself). She will ask you basic questions like your strengths & weaknesses and what motivates you etc. and then within 10 minutes you will be sent on your merry way having spent a couple of hours to get there.
You will be told that you will be contacted in the next week if you are successful for a second interview, but to be quite honest you won't be. You might as well not bother going there in my opinion because in the unlikely event that you get hired, you won't last long.
Here are the correct contact details if you need them - good luck.

Why they prefer to use a discontinued phone number to call applicants for an interview is beyond me - I can only imagine they have a lot of dissatisfied staff and customers so they use a number that no one can contact them on - for fear of receiving too many complaints and abuse. Maybe a dodgy company?- Caller: ChequePoint

- SwineGot the Interview call, but the woman (American) spoke so damn quickly I couldn't catch quite what company/role she said. Sure enough I got the email from them so I'll post it verbaitum;

Seems very odd that I'd be called for an interview for a company I can't even remember applying to and anything I've applied for in the last few months is in a feild completely unrelated to their type of business. I am almosted tempted to attend the inteview just for the fun of it. Expect to see an update if I do go... I does seem like some sort of scam, but I'm failing to see how they could possibly profit from it. Someone mentioned Gumtree in an ealier post, and I probably did apply for a couple of design/DTP temp jobs via Gumtree a while back. Whole thing seems VERY odd, so I might just go on tuesday to satisfy my own curiosity!- Caller: Chequepoint (Didn't know until email)
- Dee| 1 replyI got a call too... i called back but no ansa, it's definitley a "SCAM" Telepest.........don't bother a complete wate of time.
- DrStrangeLove replies to DeeActually they are a legit company. I interviewed with them for a senior freelance role. They seem to take on a lot of student/temp types for their call centre hence the group interviews. I had a 1on1 interview and as I was leaving there was a group forming to be interviewed for chahiers jobs. Not a scam, just a bit strange really, no real explation for the number not working when you try and call it either... might just be an outbound number?
- di replies to johnnooI just received a phone call from this number, the same american woman (Sarah) invited me for an interview, I do not remember and could not find any info regarding the job she invited me for an interview for. Then I run check on the number on google and came across all the posts from all you guys. Thank you for leaving such an important info.
I will not be bothered to go there and waste my time. - diYes guys, this is SCAM

- AntonioI would like just to make it clear that this number is NOT a telepest or a SCAM... I too like you guys came to this website to work out who the company that called my mobile offering me an interview. At the time I was looking for work and was very pleased to hear that I had gotten an interview. The information on this website very nearly made me not turn up to my interview. THANKFULLY I thought it would be worth shot and decided to turn up:
I was greeted by exactly I told was that you meet me, A lady called Sarah (who has had some very unfair comments made about her) greeted me and welcome me into the back office for an interview. After the interview I was let on my way and within 3 days recieved a phone call offering me the cashier position I had applied for.
I was left under no illusions what I had applied for and what to expect at work.(No millionare salaires as stated in a previous comment). By reading some of the comments on this site it would seem to me alot of you guys are reading the negative comments and then not following up which is understandable considering it would seem that something is not quite right.
As an employee now I enquired to why the telephone number cannot be called back and its just because its merely because its an outgoing phone number but there is a telephone number listed for the branch's and the head office in Gloucester Rd.
I only wrote this comment to stop anybody else missing an interview because of the negative information which is mostly untrue and looks asif it was written but disgruntled candidates. Because if like me you needed a job any chance to sell yourself should be taken. Especially when you get the chance to do it for a multinational company.- Caller: Chequepoint

I nearly missed my interview due to the information on this site.. But I think ill give it a try now!- Caller: Cheque Point
- PappaBearI applied for a position: Chauffeur for Company MD - advertised on "Gumtree"
After a couple of weeks I received the hurried call back form “Sara Harrison”; I was surprised, as normally you never hear back from Gumtree adverts – especially for Chauffeurs!
I was being short listed for interview, and yes like the rest of you I received the exact same e-mail from this Sara. Should I have just given the interview a wide birth – yes probably, but I thought in for a penny in for a pound! So at my expense I travelled to central London – Cromwell Road, arriving in plenty of time. I informed the bloke behind the cash counter that I was here, he called through to Sara.
I was taken through the back of the shop (no pictures on the wall or anything that indicated a normal work environment) to the interview room. Just a round table, 4 chairs. No pictures again, and the only things on the table was a phone and Sara`s laptop (that was still running throughout the interview?).
The interview was like going back in time 10 years – all the what’s your strengths and weaknesses, where do you see your self in 5 years, and it was all over in about 15 mins! I asked questions about the Chauffeuring side but got very little useful information back.
I asked why the vacancy had arisen and was told that the chauffeur (who had been there for 4 yrs) wanted less hours – and the hours mentioned was very much Mon – Fri 9 – 5 (so nothing strenuous). I asked if he had been there for 4 years how comes here was the exact same advert that I had answered in Nov 2010 – a dumbfounded look came back! The car defiantly did not sound right, and I quizzed Sara even more about it, the more she spoke the less it sounded right!
I did mention that I had reservations about the Company and interview process as I had seen this site. Sara denied any knowledge about the site, but the further I went in to it the less she could resist to tell me that the only people who put entries onto “that site” are disgruntled as we never gave them a job! I quizzed her that there really was a job, as advertised, and she said yes there was? I asked how I had performed during the interview, I was told “very professional and extremely personable”, but she was seeing another 30 people for the job! Well who has that much time on their hands? Talk about waste my time! Oh and the reason you cant get through on the phone accourding to Sara is "it only allows outgoing calls" Strange for the HR Managers phone I enquired - yet another blank look!
I have tried to contact Sara via replying to the mail sent to me, and even by replying to the advert on Gumtree but alas nothing – am I surprised? No not really.
There is something going on – but for the life of me I can’t work it out.
There you have it – chapter and verse – so now you know, and if you get a call and want to attend its up to you.
I pride myself on being a true professional, and I feel really let down in myself for even bothering to waste a day travelling and spending money for nothing!- Caller: chequepoint

- Anon| 2 repliesGot a message inviting me for interview for an area manager job with Barclays Credit and Finance, the call sounded far too unprofessional to be the bank and as I couldn't remember applying for a position, I began to question the legitimacy.
Quick google search led me to a company called Berkely Credit and Finance, a pawnbrokers, when I phoned the number back they answered it as Chequepoint and seemed very, very keen to get me an interview as quickly as possible, I thought it sounded questionable, so requested an interview in a weeks time, they replied that they don't book interviews that far in advance?!?!
Considering I'm after 50k plus jobs, this isn't the usual protocol, who knows, maybe they're trying to recruit another Sara, so they can set up more puzzling interviews? Anyway, the number is going on the block list and I won't be persuing any further!
The two companies are the same and owned by harada ltd - http://harada-ltd.freehomepage.com/
The company looks legitimate but I have no idea what they're doing with their recruitment, they also recruit through Reed too. http://www.reed.co.uk/job-vacancies/Chequepoint/?ProfileID=9117&ns=true- Caller: Berkeley Credit and Finance / Cheque Point
- justyna replies to Anon| 1 replyoh no:( I just had a call from them and was so happy for tomorrow interview, I am so confused reading your comments - do not know what to do? is it really waist of time to go there???
what is wrong with them? if this is kind of dodgy company why they cooperate with Reed? - PappaBear replies to justynaTake my advice dont bother.....................if if you attend you will never hear back from them, there is no number to call them back on and "Sara" does not answer E-Mails either.
I wasted a whole day, and a load of money getting there!
Wasters - SJAfter reading these comments, and their email address being hrchequepoint@hotmail.co.uk (why the [***] have they got an hotmail account if they are a legit company?), I will not bother wasting my time going to London for this 'interview'.
They sound dodgy and absolute time wasters! I have made plenty of applications recently, and never come across such a confused and strange recruitment procedure.- Caller: Chequepoint

This is what I got after very rushed phone call for senior administrator role. I had applied for an office manager position via reed, recruiter: berkley credit and finance. I said I coulnt interview until next week Friday but was told that they are looking to fill quickly. I called back on the number got through straight away and arranged an interview for tomorrow- which after looking on the net I will not be attending! And I will email Erin with this info and to enquire about why interviews are taking place with no actial jobs (other than cashier) and see if get reply!- Caller: Cheque point

- Chequepoint & Harada luvyChequepoint is owned by Mr Felix Grovit, he is not only very ,very ,very, rich but is also a very private man. He likes luxury for himself, but otherwise he could be described as frugal. The office staff when my friend worked there bought all their office stationary from the £1 shop. In the basement of the Gloucester office security boxes are kept along with Mr Grovit’s ‘treasures’, items that are valuable but are stored as if thery were clutter from a jumble sale.
In the upstairs offices at Gloucester road are in a state of disrepair, however he has his own bathroom which no one else is allowed to use and is kept spotless. He also owns Berkeley Credit & Finance, and despite him being a modern day scrooge, it was funny when my friend was expected to take the pawned gold and silver to Hatton Garden to value when gold and ruby rings turned out to be toy rings from Christmas crackers, emerald earrings were from Sindy the dolls jewellery box, and yes that gold Rolex was a fake, clearly the staff are being naughty at times, however they appear to be having the last laugh.
Mr Grovit, has a temper and is prone to tantrums, so if you are applying to be his chauffeur, good luck to you, you will have to be prepared to be ignored and at his beck and call with a spotless car alt all hours of the day or night when he is in London.
Mr Grovit is based in Brussels so he often spends 3 days a week in London, and when he is in chequepioint those will be the longest days of your life. Often you may be summoned to the boardroom in which a 12ft table is in the centre and the walls are lined with tapestries. You will be asked questions and if you do not know the answer you could find yourself feeling as though you are in the head masters office.
Mr Grovit is very clever, but he is not kind to his staff. In this economy jobs are hard to find, so I would say yes there is a very high turnover of staff at Chequepint, but if you get a job, use it as a stepping stone.- Caller: chequepoint
- ric| 1 replyI had my first interview with them around 4 weeks ago. on the 27th they wrote me an email inviting me for a second email and I felt quite happy about it. I went there yesterday for the interview only to be asked the same questions as in the first one. the only thing is that the person Darlene who I had my first interview with, left the company.
I met Mr. Grovit at the first interview .......
I dont know what to believe...............- Caller: chequpoint
- Checkedpoint replies to ricChequepoint is a revolving door company, the turnover of staff is massive. Anybody that works near Felix Grovvit lasts no more than 3 months and then he makes up an argument and sacks them on the spot. The only exceptions are those that have no self respect, even they eventually go.
Unless you are desperate, don't go there
