Have to admit that this gave me a welcome giggle this morning!
After weeks of ignoring these calls I actually answered by accident thinking it was my mother ringing me back after she lost signal! The man on the other end of the phone asked to speak to someone with a very similar name to mine e.g. if my name was Becky Willis he asked for Beth Wallis (sorry to give an example not the actual names but my paranoia about giving out my full name anywhere online is very deeply ingrained these days!) It was close enough to set alarm bells ringing that he had the right details but had misread them (or possibly mis-translated them as it sounded as though English may not have been his first language)
I didnt correct him, instead just said that he had the wrong number. He replied "are you sure?" to which I said (rather rudely now I think about it, he is just doing a job. For unscrupulous beggers admittedly, but just a job nonetheless) that I was very well aware of my own name and that that definately wasnt it. Then he whipped out what he must have thought was the ultimate hook and said "oh dear, well she has won an ipad and a chance to be entered into a draw to win £10000 so I really need to be able to get hold of her. Are you sure shes not there?" My reply? "oh dear, what a pity. Oh well, what she's never had she wont miss"
Judging by many of the other posters ive been getting off lightly with only 1 missed call every other day. Someone needs to come up with a TPS for mobiles, I'll be on that in a heartbeat.

got calls from this number do they really think im that stupid i mean come on........i answered it once and said dominoes pizza and they still asked for a person whos name sounds like mine i told i could do them a discount on a meat feast ha ha lol

I just recieved a call from this number the lady said I has entered ancompetition to win 10k or an ipod which I told her I definately had not and was told it was a while ago it must of slipped my mind. She then told me my date of birth and proceeded to say I had omitted my address from the entry form. I asked the name of the company and thought she said DPB European services when I asked her what did DPB stand for she hung up!!!!

My partner took call and they said i had won a comp from online,but they couldnt tell him anymore then that

had 2 missed calls of this number and answered once but dnt no who it is as they didnt answer

i had a phone-call from this number telling me id won a iPhone, then wanted £44.00 a month to play the lottery, when i told her i could play it myself if i wanted, she put the phone down and no mention of the iphone lol, ive fallen for scams before, and it wont happen again, nearly every phone-call, i answer now wants to rip me off!!!!!!!!!!!!!! dont think so, something needs doing about this keep putting your complaints down on here and other sights and hopefully everyone will stop allowing themselves to be SCAMMED.

This number keeps calling me. foolishly I did call back eventually as I thought it might be important. Just got some one trying to sell something so hung up. really irritating. I don't return any calls now unless I absolutely know the number. There's another one beginning 07520 that's calling a lot and is another scam

They ring then hang up!
Don't bother with answering I think its a scam.
They have even rang my landline .

They keep calling me and hanging up when I answer as well.

I don't how they got my number. It's brand new and I've only given it to friends, family, and a couple of trusted companies.

I agree completely. Maybe John and the other guy are just trying to persuade the rest of us that they are ok to be dealing with and actually maybe work for the company in question!!! I have been getting calls off them now for 2 weeks in which i have been told the lottery tale, that i'm the big winner of a competition and then last week the lady on the other end was thanking me for my continued support with Cancer Research and could i update my details with them!!!!! Absolutely disgusting, they are completely DODGY!!!!!!!!!!

Not very bloody funny when I am waiting on a call regarding my brothers very recent death.  Thankfully I know who is calling due to the set ringtones but ....SOMEONE NEEDS TO DO US ALL A FAVOUR AND NAIL THESE IDIOTS [***] TO THE WALL.  Nuff said.  Dial 1477 and log it.

Complete scam, made out that I'd won 10k or an iPad, then told me to keep checking my emails incase I had won. Then went on to try and sell me a lottery syndicate. When I told him I wouldn't be giving my bank details out over the phone, he said he's not asking for my card details just my card details and said he's sure this offer will help me in everyday life. When I told him I couldn't afford it, he asked well how do you know you don't even know how much it will cost, i eventually hung up. The email in question did come through, when I went onto claim my prize I was asked first to participate in offers, either to sign up to this lottery syndicate or a mobile phone comp where I'd have to pay 4.50 per week. After doing some research I found that after signing up to these offers you don't actually get your prize as the page freezes. These are hard sales people on the phone and don't give up without a fight, so if ur vulnerable to these kinda people then plz hang up straight away. Also the people on here are lying that they had their prizes granted to them over the phone, as when I spoke to the guy on the phone he said they don't do that.

Just received a call on my mobile from a foreign lady in a very noisy call centre advising me that I too had entered a competition for an ipad or £10,000 and they wanted my home adress to send the prize to. She was very difficult to understand because of all the background noise and the strong accent but told me that the call was being recorded so I said that I didn't recall entering any such competition and she then proceeded to tell me my date of birth (which was worrying) and could anyone else have entered on my behalf. I told her no, so she just said goodbye. I think I got off fairly lightly but after reading the other posts am now waiting for further calls from this number!

i am a memeber of tps and i have never been asked for any money, you register free on line so no paperwork needed and no payment taken. the telephone numbers are 0845 numbers and even there fax no is not 0207 345 so a different area of london

Hey thanks for this I've just had many phone calls the past week, just answered and he said I have won £10,000 or an iPhone 5, then went straight on about the national lottery, euro millions asking for my bank details, told him I wasn't home and don't have the info on me, only so I could check if the comPany is legit.
Will not be answering the call from now on.

they phoned me me twice today. the 2nd time i answered and it was a South African sounding lady saying i had been 1 of 100 people who had won a competition for an i pad. then she went on about the lottery syndacit saying me and the other 99 people would pay something like 5p per line?? was quite hard to hear her as very noisey in background. she asked me what i would spend the money on if i won, trying to put words in my mouth. when i told her i wouldnt give my bank details she asked why? i said because if it sounds to good to be true it usually is. she said it would be done through direct debit, i still said no then she very hastily got of the phone, hopefully thats the last from her?  company was called something like D T EUROPE??
