We keep on getting calls from this number, they hang up when we answer.

Hi im 12 these people rang they said is tom there i said i am tom and then they said is your mum there then i said no shes out and they said they will call again later. The caller was a lady. Who the hell is it. (02074309440)

02074309440 phone rang, i pressed 1471 and then 1571, wired message left. i tried to phone back but not recognised who is this?

Got a call from 02074309440 on the 14-05-08, she asked can she speak with my daughter who is only 9 years old and I said who is speaking, she hung up. Can you trace this number.  I tried to call back but it says wrong number.

Got a Call from this number while I was at School today in Lesson.
Dont know how they got my number as Ive never entered any comps or beign on this site.

We too have been receiving these calls from this number. Highly annoyed that they feel they can keep ringing despite our telling them we ARE NOT INTERESTED! Should someone contact Watchdog/Oftel about this? I will looking at the above mentioned website and intend to put a stop to these nuisance calls.

Mychild is a scam, watchdog featured them last year and I and a lot of other people have had major problems with them.
They ask if your interested in receiving some disks for your child education, after you receive them and try to return them they will not answer and charge your card £88.00.
Reported them to TS and card company and got a chargeback. They never answer their emails or the telephone.
So if they ask you if you would like a free trial tell them NO.

Have just recieved a call  from my irate husband he has had a call from  02074309440  .How have these people got his number its ex-directory ,asking the same questions about his wife and children and home circumstances.after reading all these comments i am quiet un-nerved by all these comments.

Some female called claiming to be from A CHILD DIRECTORATE OR SOMETHING ALONG THESE LINES. Asked if i had downloaded maths and SAT papers from the internet, or if my daughter had. Obviously I hadn't but this person knew my name,my number, that I had a daughter but then just hung up after I asked questions about any problem.
When tried to call the number back just says wrong number.

Looking at everyone else's problem calls this number should be banned or a complete investigation who is using this by the police. If anyone has any ideas?

I got a call, sounded like an Indian girl with London accent, asking for me, using my correct name.  I reckon it might be a kind of scam regarding call back.  Very irritating and annoying.

I too have fell for this one,the call I got offered me a CD pack for my grand kids to learn from,this sounded like a good deal at £9,so agreed to have it.When it came I found it was a CD ROM PACK which is of no use to a child that does not have a computer,also there was a letter telling me that I had to pay another £80 for this,I am sending it back its a big CON.Dont fall for it;

I too have been getting calls from this number for about three weeks now.  Did have a look at the mychild website a few weeks ago - looked interesting and legitimate so signed up for the emailing of updates etc, but nothing else as I was not interested in any of the packages they had to offer.   I have, today, emailed them to say that the number they use is now listed as a nuisance number and that I will be going to Watchdog if they do not cease from ringing me.  It is worrying though as it sounds as if most of the folk on these links have never heard of mychild let alone visited their website.  

The best thing to do is complain on mass - I will take it further if it continues!  Pain in the proverbial definitely!

Received a call from this number today and my child answered the phone, they told her it was 'child welfare' calling !!!! They hung up before I got to the phone tho.

My poor mum has received these calls lately - she's 73 and a grandmother!  I've told her not to confirm her name or any other details to any 'fishy' callers.  She's been getting a lot since my dad died in January.  We've now barred them.

I did sign up to their emails, and I have given my number on many competitions on their site.

I won a nice hardback children's book from them, too.

I didn't know it was them calling me until I reached this site, 5 minutes ago.  (They called me 10 minutes ago.)  They always hang up when I answer.  Next time I will let it go to voice mail.

Has anyone ever seen the magazine?

have been getting phonecalls from these people daily for about 2 weeks now. It is to do with MyChild - they were a internet site I stumbled upon while trying to find writing worksheets to help my young autistic son. You have to "register" to get the worksheets (which were ok, not brilliant) so they have your name, address and phone no. I never answer the calls and never will but it is really annoying....... guess i'll be more careful in future but how bad is it that you try to do something to help your child and then get harrassed for ever more ?????!!!!!!!

I never answer the phone to numbers I don't know, if someone needs me they'll leave a message but this number calls and never leaves a message so will never be answered or acknowledged.  It's really annoying though.
