- Susan| 1 replyAvoid UKmodels. I took my daughter to UK Models, they are very good in pushing you to buy their portfolio which is very expensive and they liar said their photos are professional. this company is really rip you off. They took us into a dark room showed the photos and didn't give us a time to think more, except pushing us in to buy and sign the paper in the room that quite dark. A week after spent 1000 pound for their portfolio (I feel really idiot), I found out they are in the website ripoff report which stated this UKmodels (pure space studio) just bunch of students and not professional. The portfolio was rejected by the agency, with the report: "Images not up to Industry standard" I am really sick with this scam.

- VickyI've just had call back too. Was not unsure when they asked for 50 deposit so I looked up on net and come across this blog. N il not be going ahead now and will be blocking this number I think it's disgusting and a disgrace
- BILI had a similar call today from UK Models. The guy clearly didn't sound happy when I told him I need some time to think before I proceed. He wanted me to let him know within two hours otherwise the places may get taken. I think its utter noncence. As soon as the money part came into it I knew there's something not right. The called sounded unprofessional and this whole thing sounds too good to be true. Like they say if it sounds too good to be true it most likely isn't. I even noticed how the caller wanted me to ring him back just because the line was bad, and when I did ring back I was on the call for almost 20mins. It looks like they try making money through your phonecalls as well.

- Lola replies to NatCatsIt is DEFINITELY a scam. It is *NOT* a modelling agency, it says that on the website too (because they have to!). My friend went to UK models and paid £2000 just for portfolios! (You're supposed to show OTHER modelling agencies your portfolio pictures), and also UK models are meant to support you in getting into the modelling industry. They do not, they make you pay for your portfolio which is NOT needed (when you go to ACTUAL modelling AGENCIES) because modelling agencies want nice natural photos too. Also with all UK models support, they forgot to tell my friend who is 5"3, that the minimum height for most female models is 5'6''. Not much support there! (They even measured her and did not tell her). Avoid this
- luvlyems replies to kittyHi, can you let me know if they are continuing to support you as a model. My son has applied, but I'm dubious about having to pay for portfolio etc. Surely if you're good enough they should be paying for that. Emma
- Dolce| 2 repliesDiesel, Blue room,Start up models,Kube Studios, etc all scams.
Michael Hannah is the master mind and the director. The only purpose of these companies is to take your money using vulnerable people, promising them things that they can't do at all.
I am the victim of Kube studios in London based in Oxford circus. Let me tell you what happened and I will leave to you to make your conclusion if they are scams or not.
I Uploaded my nine years daughter photos and filled an on line application to Start up model, Model direct, and Uk model, a few days later I received a non stop phone calls which I thought was the above agencies telling me that my daughter was chosen as she is beautiful and have huge potencial to be a model.
I spoke to a very polite lady which requested me to make an appointment for a test shoot to evaluate what kind of modelling style will be appropriate for her. A 50 pounds was requested as a deposit which would be refundable if attended. A few days later they send me a welcome pack this time as a Kube Studios with their tems and conditions which forces you to attend as if not a 135 ponds would be charged, to bring a minimum of 5 and a maximum of five nice outfits. The cost of each photo would cost 50 pounds each and a reduced price would be applied in propitious of the quantity the individual are willing to buy. The makeover, hair style, the hire of the studio was free.
That they they were so busy my daughter was only aloud to 4 outfit change. They never asked me any proof of identity to certify that she was my daughter and vice versa which doesn't mutch with the information on their welcome pack. Anyone can take any children it doesn't matter for them. They want money. The hair stylist just straighten my daughter hair and the photographer took some pictures inside and outside and was quick.
After been waiting for hours to be seen by a person an 'expert' and experient models advisor called Bee who claimed herself as a organiser of London Fashion Week who took us downstairs to show us on her screen the photos also a lots of compliments such us: " you have a beautiful daughter she will be a very successful model I can see she got a huge potencial I can't believe she just 9 years". My daughter was so happy hearing all those nice comments and starts dreams as a model. After all this she convinced us that a portfolio is essential and she told me to buy a package costs 1500 pounds as it includes a one year management crater and promises to find a work and even told that her next job she could earn 1000 pounds as she believe my daughter have potencial. I agreed to pay as I was believing in all her words. She just request the payment prior anything.
After paying she requested a 5 signature by pointed at where I had to sign as she claimed as a recipt of my payment to be sent to the office next day to be able to process my daughters application quickly.
We left the studio and called my daughter at home to tell her the news and I was devasted when she phone me back after read their reviews as a scams. What they promise is all lies. I phone them to certify and I spoke to someone who told me that they don't find any work for nobody as their are only a photograph studio then I requested the cancelation of any order which was refused as they told the that I signed a contract. The lady never told me about any contract , never gave me a copy of that contract or read anything about their terms and conditions. Conclusion since that they my little daughter been feeling depressed, lost appetite,
Been crying as she blame herself as she believes that the fact she wanted to be a model results of a financial lost as I work hard and the money was for us to but a secon hand car. I only invested the money on her as I believed in all the words the advisor told us, Sorry for any grammatical and spelling error as English is not my first language.

- Lorna replies to AmeliaHi Amelia,
I would be very interested to speak with your friend to hear her experience with UK models before handing over my £50 deposit. Please may you ask her if I can contact her? - andreai have parted with £50 to secure my daughter having a photoshoot. The guy rang me and told me that my daughter has potential and went on to say about the money she could earn. He told me that I would get the money back on the day. Since they have sent me details and it states that the £50 will be deducted from the portfolio and that other shots will cost around 50 each. Im gutted for my daughter as she is so excited.
- Tracey knightI've received a phone call from Samuel from UK models saying interested in my daughter modelling and to pay 50 deposit didn't go into much did say have to pay for photos to go in portfolio not said how much. Wanna do it for my daughter as she loves dressing up and makeup but don't wanna be let down and having to pay fortune for nothing. Anyone personal experience with them please get in touch.

- Dorota| 2 repliesHi guys. Unfortunately I've fallen for it as well. After paying £50 deposit, I've found this website. I've just been to bank, I cancelled my card, bank will try to get me my £50back as it was still "pending" on the account and they will also block any further payments from "blue rooms" as it shown on statement. I was also advised that if I see any money taken from them I have to come back to bank and they'll sort it out.
so whoever paid money to uk models, don't cancel appointment, coz they will charge you, cancel your card straight away and go to your bank.- Caller: UK models
