Report a phone call from 02089564000 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- family mediatorThe very well spoken 'robin taylor' of the 'parliamentary information office' called to congratulate me on my work as a family mediator, supposedly recommended, and say his organisation are was interested in including articles on the future of mediation in a forthcoming publication. (He suggested I was one of a short list who were to be approached). For a chance to influence the future of the profession and for the sum of 2750 + VAT for 500 words, or 4950 + VAT for double that, he would be delighted to have my contribution. He dropped the name of Mr Kenneth Clark, etc. What was highly unlikely at the outset, became completely impossible at this juncture. Is this done for laughs, and kicks, or is it a commercial pursuit?! I was listening to see if I could hear a voice I recognised - some prankster friend?

- AnonymousI used to work for these absolute ar$eholes nearly 10 years ago. I'm frankly astonished that they're still in business.
The publications are of course a load of old rubbish that end up in office bins up and down the land. Nobody reads them.
The ridiculous posh voices are, as you've all no doubt cottoned on to, completely false. What you might not know is that the names are pseudonyms, given so that those who've been conned can't track people down and beat the [***] out of them.
I actually contacted Trading Standrads about 7 years ago about them. I think they're well known to authorities but seemingly aren't quite lawless enough to lock up.- Caller: Blake Organisation

- Kazjust had a call from a posh voiced guy claiming they run 10,000 magazines and are approved by parliment. they go to all the healthcare industries and to the top buyers of the NHS. Hmmm me smells a rat! He said his name was Matthew Forrest and for 1000 word editorial it would ONLY be £4950. he said they had been operating since 1976 and have the backing of the health minister! Maybe I will give the health minister a call.
He only wanted to speak the managing director of the company, that would be me then! I asked if I could have his email address, he said, sorry its a one size fits all email but I can give you my phone number. This rat smell is getting stronger! I asked if they were a charity, PLC or Ltd company, he was clueless, I asked for his company reg, I could feel the panic come over him as the legal questions started to come out. I told him I wasn't interested and not to call me again.
I am not saying this company of said phone number is a scam, but not finding their company registered with companies house or them operating since 76 and not having a VAT number certainly raises questions.
I was scammed by a different media who were featured on BBC program inside out! I fell for their patter hook line and sinker, so now I am ready for the patter.
Advice people. NEVER SAY YES OR GIVE YOUR CARD DETAILS TO COLD CALLERS UNLESS YOU HAVE CHECKED THEM OUT FIRST. GET THEIR COMPANY DETAILS AND CHECK ON THE NET IF ANYONE HAS HAD PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE GOOD OR BAD WITH THEM.- Caller: Parlimentary Information Office

- James PikeJust to say that, as at 7th February 2013, they're still at it. One "Angela Kelly". They still call themselves "Blakes", and they're still offering you the opportunity to finance someone else's extravagant lifestyle with your money.
- Caller: "Blakes"
- Philip ChildWe just had a call fropm Diana Henly who was desperate to include us in the latest edition for £5k.
Thy are as little like rats, devious and no matter what you do to get rid of them they keep coming back.
Just take the opporrtunity to listen for a few seconds then tell them to p**ss off.- Caller: Blakes

- ChrisHad a few phonecalls from the 'Parliamentary Information Office' today - very obviously fake posh accent, wouldn't speak to anybody but the MD, couldn't send out unsolicited emails (despite calling unsolicited...), seems fairly similar to the other experiences listed here.

- opalcallinI've just had a Henry Ward on from the Parliamentary Office, again using a spiel about 6 organisations of excellence and mine was one of them. Asked if there was a cost involved from the outset as I was sure they were dodgy and he said no. I wont be calling him back!!

These guys are scammers! We got sucked in! Feel so embarrassed we fell for it.- Caller: Scam - Parliamentary Yearbook
- Call type: Prank
- Scott replies to LisaThey tried to sell us this advertising in 2009 by claiming to be undertaking parliamentary research. Unfortunately for them, I was able to read out the text of a letter dated 15 November 2007 sent from Mela Watts, Principal Private Secretary to Ed Balls MP (then Secretary of State at the DCSF) warning them off for a second time from misrepresenting the yearbook as being "linked with this Department or any other government organisation concerned in education. I also ask you similarly to ensure that no representations are made as to the involvement of the Secretary of State or any of the Ministers in the Department with any initiative related to funding or with any request for financial contributions from schools or colleges."
Obviously didn't work. - Anon| 1 replyI keep receiving calls from a well spoken gentleman called 'Brian' (If that is his name!!!) who appeared to have a mouth full of marbles when he spoke!! His number was 02089564000 or Unknown, He made it sound very interesting and worth doing from a business point of view, I confirmed this in an e-mail. After speaking with a colleague we decided to do it in 2014 instead, my collegue spoke to 'Brian' and informed him we are not going to proceed this year, but to contact us in 2014. 'Brian' seemed fine with this, but then we recently recieved another call from 'Brian' who informed me that we have commited and will therefore have to pay a cancellation fee and will be sent a invoice to the tune of £1.375.00. Has anyone else experienced a cancellation fee invoice from this company and if so what was the outcome? Glad I found this thread.

- Greg replies to AnonIf you havnt singed anything you havnt commuted to anything which means your not entitled to pay them a 'cancelation fee'. These people are true scam artists and will do anything to take money from people!
- AnonSame as above - Henry called today (obvious fake accent). I told him that I had been contacted before by a "Charles" and that after researching his publication previously and finding a lot of negative reviews about their company on the internet, we do not want to deal with them. I'm sure they'll call again though.

- RR replies to JJI also worked here, total scam. They take numbers FROM THE ADDRESS BOOK photocopied, so no ones numbers will ever be removed! Everyone fakes who they are, and are laughing at people when they sign up. Parliament does not receive the book. They will con you saying you are the ONLY one and have been chosen, only chosen by the fact your names falls on a list! They won't even know who you are!

All the same people, all the same/ similar pitch, all scamming businesses with a "once in a lifetime" opportunity being one of a select few of "invited experts" hand picked to be showcased. Sales people ordered to stand up all day calling from directories, membership bodies, lists of company names and numbers printed from the internet.
They will call as the National Audit Office asking for the name of the MD or CEO, then a few days later call in a fake accent to go in for the kill.
No book has ever been published, dismembered directors, drug taking back office, no publisher, dodgy websites, fake testimonials from people who are none the wiser that their name is being used to authenticate such a bad company..
If you ever get a call that sounds any what suspicious, or too good to be true, it always is.. Ask for their real name< hear them splutter..- Caller: Blake Media
