- Angry replies to Karamel| 2 repliesHey there - thanks for the new website I have published it at this link:
www.parliamentaryyearbook2.weebly.com/other-s ... -portfolio-scam
I encourage everyone to post new websites on this blog: www.parliamentaryyearbook2.weebly.com
If you do this then I will format the site so their new sites appear in google search under the heading of "SCAM" - that way other people won't get ripped off. They have so many websites and so many names it is hard to keep up with them.
You can also help by doing the following with this link www.parliamentaryyearbook2.weebly.com:
1. Put www.parliamentaryyearbook2.weebly.com into emails and send them
2. Post www.parliamentaryyearbook2.weebly.com in blogs
3. Chat/forums/feedback like this website mention www.parliamentaryyearbook2.weebly.com
4. Also include it in facebook or twitter
5. If possible link it to your website too.
The more we can talk about them on the internet the better it will be for google. - Karamel replies to Angry| 1 replyThanks Angry...
I am following your advice, I will post on Facebook too from home
www.parliamentaryyearbook2.weebly.com - Angry replies to KaramelNo problems. I managed to get another scam website to the top on Google when you search parliamentary yearbook - so I guess that one won't work for them for too much longer. Now we just need to work on their other URLs.

- Ann replies to Lisa| 1 replyI got scammed with a promise of a
leather bound Parliamentary Year book
I was told I had been recommended by
the local authority as an excellent private nursery
It cost me £800 I wrote an editorial which
is on a website but no sign of any books
Feel angry can't believe they can sell like that on false pretences.
They need to be charged with fraud !! - Susan| 1 replyThey seem to have a different name now, parliamentary portfolio. They are ripping off medical research institutes who are trying to innovate on life sciences. No shame for these crooks but I am onto them and will be bringing this to the attention of the Science Minister and police

- Jerry replies to SusanAnd new phone numbers. We were called by them and I remember them from a few years ago.
- Julie replies to AnnI booked with them last year and nothing produced. They had the cheek to call me to rebook! We are a small biotech company and we spent money that could have done some good. Someone needs to close these morons down. Going to write to my member of parliament
- Angry FDYou are correct they now call themselves Parliamentary Portfolio, they flattered the boss into paying the fee, nothing was ever produced apart from an entry on their website (which you really have to hunt for to find). I too cannot believe that this lot still exist, it seems they've been operating unhindered by the authorities for quite some time. In my spare time, I'm going to try to do something about them.

- mAaah these old scammers, wonder if they are still based up near Old Street Station?
- MartinAmazed that David Blake's still publishing! I worked there for several months back in the 'seventies ( yes, as far back as that!). Then he operated from the grandly-named Diplomatic & Consular House. Actually quite a scruffy two storey building surrounded by a used car lot (mainly American jobs) opposite East Finchley tube station. David drove a very cool type E-type. His boss/partner/co-director (still not sure which) was a guy called Alan Stein who did a lot of charity publishing (that part of the operation was termed "Support"). The posh yearbooks - the "flagship" publications were exclusively handled by "the Professional Sales" team. Basically you responded to an ad in the Evening Standard which went something on the lines of "Speak well? You could be earning zillions......" If you sounded posh you went to the "Professional" team. You were then assigned to a trainer and handed a script containing the sales pitch. Training lasted until lunch then in the afternoon you hit the phone culling your leads from Yellow Pages and anything else that you could lay your hands on. Not surprisingly the drop out rate among the sales staff was huge and very often immediate - the guy on the next phone to me simply walked out after an hour on the first day! Obviously he couldn't take rejection! It had its funny side too. One sales guy was a very charming alcoholic. He lined up an appointment to go out and do a "face to face" with a prospective client.. One problem though. In order to get into selling mode he'd smuggled some booze into the office and when the time came for him to go and meet the client he was too drunk to do so! After lunch the front door would be locked at 2 pm. I well recall guys who'd been in the pub opposite too long standing outside on cold winter afternoons begging to be let in. It was actually a scam within a scam. Guys who defied the odds and did well suddenly found that they'd be put on publications which were not only
almost impossible to sell from but when they did somehow sell something the commission would be much less than
that on the publications that they had been successful on. As remuneration was entirely commissioned-based, they
quickly became disillusioned and walked out. All of the business that they had generated would then be carved up and handed out to the "favoured few" - a small group who'd been there for years - as easy "repeat" business. This explained why they made comparatively few calls but had a very high success rate. A case of benefiting from O B E !
All very shocking you may be saying. But as we sales guys used to say, only a silly so and so would commit to paying hundreds (it was hundreds then!) to a stranger who'd cold-called him!! There's cynicism for you!- Caller: Dennis W
