- OFT Man| 1 replyThis number is from the collection agency "Impact" they say that they act on behalf of "Vanquis Bank". It is infact "Vanquis Bank".
If you owe them money, then they are quite within their rights to contact you. Heres the thing that not many people know. When you apply for a card - with any Bank or Building Society, (you probably give them your home and mobile number just as they ask) and you don't make a payment, they can only contact you a maximum of 3 times per day. So, if you have given them both numbers thats a maximum of 6 calls per day. Any more than this is classed as harrasment, and you are quite within your rights to contact them and ask them to cease. It's usually a good idea to e-mail them, and let them know you are going to send a copy of this to the OFT at enquires@oft.gsi.gov.uk. All e-mails now are leagally kept by your ISP for a period of 2 years.
Hope this helps! - Martin68Impact Collections - In house debt collection division of Vanquis - Rang 5 times in less than 15 minutes

- Ann replies to OFT ManDoes that also work that they can call you 3 times a day off each of there numbers? My ex owes them money and they keep calling I have told them he does not live here bur they keep calling at least 2 or 3 times an hour from different numbers I have just given up answering now.
- Barr E StairIt is in fact MBNA, who provide the umbrella for Vanquis Bank, and more importantly the finance. If you do owe money to any creditor I would advise you acknowledge it early and try to make some sort of token gesture towards reducing your arrears, remember anything is better than nothing and you will at least remove them from your back. If you can’t and I mean really can’t pay, tell them, they can’t take what you don’t have. As far as possessions go, the law is clear. They can knock but have to be let in, don’t let them in and they can’t do anything. As far as putting their foot in the door, call the police, immediately, as only creditors for the court can force entry, anyone else (Financial institutions, banks etc) cannot. If, however you let them in, they can come back anytime and force entry. Don’t let them in and they can’t do it, it is breaking and entering if they do without the prior invitation. Fear is a big factor, bottom line; you have the control and the law on your side. Don’t panic. On the other hand it won’t just simply disappear...
- vtVery annoying getting calls from them as I am a bit hard of hearing so no good them keep calling me as I won't answer their calls.

- KeithI have had average 25-30 calls every day, they call from 8am - 9pm, Everyday. INCLUDING 8am SUNDAY MORNING. Surely that isnt legal is it :/
As it states above, 3 calls per day per number........but........are they allowed to make different calls from different numbers, ie they call from 5 different numbers, then they can call 15 times a day without it being harrassment ?
