I can see from the list many people got call from suspected people. So far I know microsoft never call people and ask to run, install something or show error on your computer unless you call microsoft. The easiest solution is find the microsoft tech support number from internet and call them and verify. They will help you. Also please never expect someone will repair for free..!. If there is any volunteer organization, you have to call them for support.

I would hand up.............................! Stop it and no more phone calls. I am ok. !!

Got a call last night just after I had turned off my computer to go to bed 10:00pm.  They said I had some corrupted files that I needed to get off my computer.  I said I am going to bed and call in the morning.  They said this is about your computer.  I asked them if they were from Dell.  They said no and that they were from Microsoft.  I said how do I know who you are, and how would you know my computer.  He took me to my registration number on my computer and read it off to me.  I said ok show me where these files are.  So he had me go to the run screen and had me type in CDM and other things.  It brought up a bunch of stuff.  He asked me if these files looked farmiliar.  I said I don't know.  "I don't know what all the files on my computer are."  After a few more things he did he eventually took me to a registration screen.  It asked fo my name, birthdate and other information.  and over on the left had side of the screen it had a total amount due of $380.00.  I asked him is this what your trying to sell me?  I said I can't even aford my house payment.  He said how much can you afford?   HUM! I turned of my computer and then hung up on him.

The joker who called me (4x now) had the nerve to ask me if I was illiterate!

i got the same call and as i am a computer tech i asked what ip is sending or what mac address is sending them this    the mac address is the cind of like  ssn for your pc and there is no one alike
thay did not have any info on wich one so i told them that i will call microsoft to fix my pc prob   that is when thay hung up on me    thay are allso calling from many other numbeers    and if you have any question on who is calling     hang up and look on the web for the microsoft number so you can tell them that thay are full of s**t      so dont give any information to them and dont type any thing in to your pc  or u could be doomed
