- Nan replies to RedIf you gave them remote access, they could see everything on your p.c. including bank details and passwords, what sites you visit and what you do on them. If you buy on the internet they can see what cards you use and what passwords you use. They can download this info to their own computers whilst they have access and go through it at leisure. They don't ask for money until after you have given them access as they know that most people will refuse to pay and end the call. They request for money is a ruse to distract you from the fact that they are reading everything on your machine. Get your machine checked out locally. Contact your bank , and tell them to keep an eye on your account.,and card suppliers and stop your cards. If you have access to another computer use that machine to change all passwords. If you cannot use another computer do not change your passwords on your own machine until after it has been checked out. No-one who 'phones knows anything about your computer and everything they tell you is lies. They are thieves and as they are 'phoning from India, you have no chance of stopping them.

- DominiqueMy wife was called last tuesday by a "Ron Watson" pretending he was from the Windows Azure technical department indicating that my PC system was having nasty viruses and they needed access to check it. He asked her to use the prompt windows (DOS similar) runing the CMD command, then ASSOC, REVIEWEVENT. AT that time my wife started to have some doubts and refused to do other commands.
To convince such people who are non-specialist in PCs, they pretend that there is a special secret computer code which appreas at the end of the list of information appearing when doing ASSOC (it is the same serie of alphanum code which appears on similar PCs, likely the BIOS versions or similar windows version, I do not know).
Anybody would know if they weer able to access/download any data at that time?
