These guys rang my sister-in-law (who has a mental disability) and got her so distressed she spent the day crying.
When I rang 02 61084604 I supposedly got a Mark Anderson (a good Indian name) from the Tax Reimbursement  Department. When I told him the government had no such department he said they were a private company that had been working for the government for the past 7 years.
Apparently they wanted my sister-in-law to  put a $500 deposit down so she could get her $4744 refund.
I told him that if there was any money due to her the DSS would sort it out and hung up.
They rang my number back twice trying to get hold of her.
NASTY NASTY PEOPLE.............

I got that call as well. I was a bit annoyed that they called at 8am, but I still wrote down all the details politely. I then did research and concluded it was a scam. I called them back and got an Indian man, who, when I told him I knew it was a scam, got all defensive and started yelling abuse, and then hung up.

Alex Almond, who has an Indian accent, just rang to tell me that I have $3114.12 owing to me as a result of overcharging by my bank (whose name he didn't know) over the last ten years. I would need to go to my local post office and collect two forms from the Western Union counter upon presentation of my photo ID. When I had brought the forms back home, I was to ring him on 02 8005 6458 and he would help me fill them in. I refused to give him my mobile number or bank name. He was most insistent that I give him a time when I would ring to complete the forms. I don't think I'll take him up on his offer!

received a call saying they could pay me my 3436 once i got a send and receive form with western union. go to post office paid 200 and they would re- inburse that with the other. she rang me once there and stayed on phone until i gave her receipt no.    she said stay there i'll ring u back...  she didn't i went home about half hour later she rang wanting another 900 for goods and services tax then hung up... i then looked on the net. i live in vic.

its not a scam i got my money back..you people need to wait u will defnateley get ur money back

just received a phone call from a guy claiming to be part of the australian council reclaims department he said that the bank had been over charging me and that i was owed $4676 and that i needed to go to the news agents and get a form called a receiving and sending form and to fill it out after i called him and he gave me the details he asked when i would be doing this so i said an hour but still havent left i thought it was a bit shonky so i just ignored it he is still calling me his name is Joe williams more than likely an alias but yes its weird he gave me a file number of #3114281 and a contact number for him of 02 800 375 79......... how can people do this i mean come on how many have they scammed already.....!!!!!!

I just got a call from a guy, can't recall his name. he told me I had $4,800 owing to me from over paid bank fees and that it would be put into my account in 2 to 3 hours. He said he was calling from Sydney and worked for the Australian Government. He already had my name and address. He told me to call 0280057150 after he hung up and I would get either a Rose Watson or Frank Hayden who would tell me how I can claim all this money. And he gave me a number to quote. I was very suspicious and sure enough when I tried to call the number it didn't said i couldn't connect, thats when I googled the number and found this site.

at the PO,I ph dis numba and I spoke to another woman,I said this is a scam a?she
said NO,she told me if I want this money I have to do what I was told,what has to be
done about these kind of money hunger,If I go and find them,I will bomb their heads

Calling herself Michelle with strong Indian accent. Same story using same ref  to Aust council Bank Reclaim Dept.(which  is she says a Govt Dept). I needed photo ID, my mobile , and $150 dollars to collect my " $3,400 owing." She wanted to  know what time I  would go to the  PO.
Reluctant to give me her details but finally gave me 08 6102 5252.

I had a call to our law firm from the Australian Council of Bank Reclaims Department stating I have been overcharged interest on my bank account.  Leading the caller on I  showed interest and  I was asked to go to the post office where the caller would contact me on my mobile to 'help me fill out the form' to transfer funds.  I insisted on calling back to verify his organisations credentials and was given this phone number - 02 80147205.   When I called back I advised that I would be reporting them to the appropriate authorities.

Yes, I also recived this anonymous call 3x from 02 80147205 and spoke with a lady name Angela Simpson who advised me that i have got $7496.00 owing to me from overcharged bank fees. And she gave me a confirmation code too. They said they were calling from Australian Council Bank Reclaims Department and said that all i have to do is go to the post office, take my ID/passport and my mobile phone with me and pay $350.00 for the admin fee than the money will be refunded back in to my acocunt.....I just want to know if this is a Scam / It that True? And who to contact in regards to this information.

I haven't gotten a call from this number... At least I think so, but I am now warned. :<

well last year i got this phone call from this lady call anne she told me i was with my bank for 20years and that they was money oweing to me from check and useing my cards and her boss will call be back the next day at 11:30  to explain how it all works and he told me to go to my post office get a waster union form and put this man name on it by name of SIMGH but i put SINGH witch was worng  then he phone me back the afternoon told me that was the   wrong   name
 and i have to do it again and use the right  name but this time it change to DAS but i had to pay another $250  yes  yes I did  it again got the western union form pay another $250 then i was to ge back 373 some like that   then i told him i had no more monet till the monday  so he said it coast me $15 a day for them to hold it for me   so i whent to the police about it   but nothen come of it but when he call me bac on the wednesday i keep him talking for wild then i told him to lock his door becouse the police was on they way to pick him up and i hang up on him  so that was that  ..TILL TODAY ANOTHER MAN CALL ME SAID THEY HAD ALL MY MONEY THERE FROM LAST YEAR I TOLD HIM OFF AND HAND UP THEN HE PHONE ME RIHT BACK AS ME TO JUST LISTEN TO HIM  SO I DID THE HE TOLD ME ALL MY MONEY WAS THEY NO FOR TO FILL UT THIS TIME  AND HE HAD $5,93.00 FOR ME BUT I HAD TO GO TO MY LOCAL NEW AND CASKET SHO AND GET THESE TWO SLIP ONE FOR $200 plus one for $100 witch made the $300 the my deliver man was not far from me and he said he call to my house this tuesday morring and this delivery man would hand me the $5,93 in cash and then i had him these two slip that made up the #0 and then i have my money  but he did say to take my cash first  then give him the he said ther r call UKASH  SO YEAH  PLEASE TRY TO HELP ME BEFOR TUESDAY MORRING A  THANKING YOU

You have already been caught once, don't be fooled again.  It is a scam.  You will not get your money back but at least you won't lose any more.  They are running this scam in the UK now.

i too have just recieved a call from the ministry of finance dept informing me i have £4520 owing to me in bank charges. he wanted someone to come round to my home within the hour to sign forms........told him no. he also couldnt tell what bank or how they got hold of my details

jus got a call from ministry of finance and reclaims in manchester sum indian guy told me that the banks owe me 3125 and that i need to go get a ukash voucher to pay capital gaining tax on it before i recieve it. is this a scam?

but they could not give any information

Spoke to Nick and after a number of questions from Veronica
she was told to deposit the money to have it released - $199;00
Got to the Post Office to get a
"Western Union Money transfer form"
He even tried to tell her to get money from the family
She is to ring him back on the number when she has the form and money

I also reveived call and have received my claim amount of $6145, and they refunded the admin fee of $700 which i Paid
