Hey darl it was sebastion parker that rang me & he threatened me when i got on to paypal he told me he was going to fill my computer full of viruses so i wouldnt be able to use it anymore & that i would be good for the bin cos no-one would be able to fix it,grrrrrrrrr

I must admit that I too have also been duped by the people at Srecure, they phoned me up and told me that they worked for Microsoft, so I let them into my computer so they could fix it, they were very cleaver about it as they only told me that I had to pay for the service after they had gotten remote access to my computer and showed me all the junk files, I did pay, didnt think too much of it, unitl one of my fiends told me I have been scammed. I phoned the ACCC, and they said yes that sounds like a scam. I then phoned the company Srecure and asked them for the ABN as it was not on their invoce (as is required by law) they told me that it was company policy to not give out this information, I then proceded to tell them that it is against the law to not provide me with a business number, they still refused. I searched on the tax office website and searched for their business number, suprise suprise they did not come up. I have phoned Pay Pal and have lodged a complaint, I am hoping to get my money back, should take up to a week, but fingers cross all gets sorted.

This is not true, if you take your computer to a reputable computer dealer, they will be able to turn off the remote access and remove any files that they may have installed, and they will not be able to log back onto your computer.

I was really shocked when I read comments on Srecure( system recure). These guys are really good. I don't know wheater they from Microsoft or not but they can really fix the problems regarding spyware and viruses. I have problem from day one when I first bought my pc but after they fixed now the perfomance of my compute is really good

Yep just got called nearly fell for it, alarm bells really went off when they used a freeware scan tool from Orbit.  So just started asking some questions like this is a free service is it not - nope bye bye.
Worse thing through I just about got sucked in I know better.  Any report activities to Microsoft and I calling Cops as well as far as I am concerned they could stealing identities.  All I can say is it was late in day just winding up work - brain drain.

Yeah sucker me, they got me too and i regularly check out Hoax-Slayer to keep up with the scams. I asked for a phone contact and was told Mia or Patrick on 0280147449. I'm ashamed of getting scammed.

A friend on mine had a similar call. Luckily she was not convinced, took their details and asked about it.

This is in the UK, it seems that alot of the calls above are to Australia, however they are trying to Scam the UK too.

this people are trying to mislead srecure. they do it out of jealousy. shame on them

genuine ph number.  no doubt regarding. scammmers trying to mislead srecure.DONT BELIEVE ANYTHING REGARDING SRECURE AS I ALLEN GOT ENOUGH SERVICE FROM THEM.

i got a call from srecurenow they told me the same thing...gone thru the remote support .i was having problem with my computer.they are microsoft certified tech.They fix up my problem .i could not understand their accent seems like Filipino  .Anyways  they are expert and genuine.Thank you for your support.

I followed propts to the point where i was asked to log them in to my computer
at this point i asked for some for of ID so i could check who i was about to login
and the number i was given was 0280147449 similar to other numbers in other complaints on this website

Hi, these guys tried to scam me too. They told me my system was corrupted by spyware and it would cost me $217 for repair and a 3 yr service plan but I told them I would think about it and call them back. Alan (the service guy) gave me the above number, 0280147449. I thought that it was a bit expensive so I googled them and found your forum. Thank God no money was paid!

I let them control my computer but said I couldn't afford the money when they mentioned prices. Does anybody know if they download anything to your computer that is dangerous? Can they keep accessing my computer now?

Jake, if you turn your modem off and on again, this changes the number that they used to gain remote access to your computer so they will be unable to dial in again, but if you want to be 100% take it to a computer guy that you trust and they can switch off the remote access so no one can get into your computer. Another good idea would be to change all of your passowords to things such as banking/paypal/facebook etc, anything where your personal information may be stored.

Allen, if you go onto the Microsoft website they actually have a warning on their web page about these scammers. And the fact that Rescure are claiming to be a representatives of Microsoft, which is clearly untrue. hmmmmm.........yeah if a company is claiming to be legitimate, why do they need to lie about their representation? Yeah, sounds like a scam to me!

I just got a call from "Alan Plant" who claimed to be in Sydney and calling from a Windows service provider and wanted to help remove "spywares" from our computer. It sounded so dodgy and was the second call we'd received this evening about the same thing. I think it's no coincidence that there's heaps of stuff in the media today about wikileaks. Obviously these dodgy people are trying to cash in on the situation ie trying to get ppl to worry about their computers being hacked into, so they can then steal their details. It's so obvious they're scammers!

Friday 26/11/10 I also was called by a guy  named Alan Plant who maintained he was from s.recurenow.com, who also said he workd for Windows I fell for the trap and paid $188.54 for them to scam my computer.  Is my computer safe now or not.  I paid by Credit card also. How do I retrieve my money back and what my mext move be.  Alan Plant also called me again at 9.46pm 30/11/10 trying to sell me another program I told him I do not want any more programs, he also asked me whether nor not my computer was working alright.  I thought that was odd.  This call I know was from overseas and I am sure that the caller was of Indian descent.

I got a call from Jack tonight saying that he works for Windows and that they have been getting lots of error reports from my computer because it is very infected with viruses, malware and spyware.  I said I have antivirus software and he said that it doesnt pick these up. He wanted to show me the errors on my computer and fix them for me.  I said no and that I didnt know who he was, he could be anyone.  He told me to call him back to verify that he was legitimate on 02 9014 7449.  Of course I didnt.  I searched online instead.  Glad I did.

no i dont feel so about system recure... they are like angels... they are doing good work and may god bless them for doing that.... i had many problems on my pc about which they took special actions and now my pc is running fine..... please dont post obscene comments about anyone like this....
