0301
Report a phone call from 0301 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- OphiicusRefused to confirm I was the person they asked for. This confused the poor Asian girl who hung up. I call that a success.
- Caller: Unknown
- Ophiicus replies to mickyMicky you could try the TPS - doesn't stop them entirely, but I only get a maximum of one.
- DebzSo far today, I've had a 'private number' call from 'Windows' to whom I passed on to our IT specialist. They hung up within the first minute on hold.
Then this dodgy number came up.
Will it ever be possible for telephone service providers to get a grip on this problem and block these obvious and well-documented nuisance callers at their end? - ruffled feathersanswered the phone at 1.30pm The caller hung up.
dialed 1471 which revealed the number to be 0301.
I'm with TPS....
getting really sick of these calls - Kingfisher| 2 repliesI have had FIVE of these 0301 calls so far today and it is only 2.00 pm, who on earth are they and can't they be stopped.
- Anonymous replies to Kingfisher| 1 replyI got a call from one of these people on 0301 just now. Foreign accent. Worryingly, I did answer his questions, despite first telling him I don't like answering these 'survey' calls and don't normally bother with them, but I was tired and have had a trying day and for some reason I didn't just put the phone down as usual, though I wish I had. My resistance was weak today.
He asked me what my favourite colour is, do I receive Sky TV through a satellite dish (!?!), do I own my own home, what age bracket I'm in, when is my pet's insurance due to be renewed, when my home policy gets renewed (I couldn't remember so thankfully didn't answer that one), am I considering getting improvements done on the house (he listed a few particular things, to which I answered 'no' for each one.
I'm unsure how any of the information I gave could be used as a scam, except perhaps for the one about the favourite colour, as it could be a password security question for someone online (though it isn't, in my case), but I did answer 'yes' when he asked for me by name and told him I own my home.
His manner was pleasant and polite but when I asked what the purpose of this survey was, he said he didn't have that information (but why wouldn't he?!) but then said something about how it would lead to me receiving less junk mail/cold calls. Yeah, right!
Best thing to do is just put the phone down on them ASAP and I wish I'd done that as usual on this occasion. I really hope there are no repercussions for me in answering his call - am worried now but have learnt my lesson. - Anonymous replies to Anonymous...and even if they aren't up to anything illegal, why should anyone give information to a company that doesn't adequately explain what it wants to use the information for and doesn't allow you to call back? [***].
- russ abbottWe are getting calls about every hour from 0301.We just put the phone down so don't know who is calling but it is getting to be really annoying.Who uses this number?
- Caller: ?
- JohnWe have been getting calls from this number for 5 years. They refuse to listen when we tell them that the person they are calling left this flat more than 5 years ago and that they should remove our number from their database. We are ex directory and registered with the TPS. There should be an effective law against pests like this

- MikeHad call from 0301 at 6 pm 18 Oct 2012 from Cecilia of PPI Claimline saying I could get money back from an old loan I had previously had. I said her information was wrong but she persisted - I suppose she was headed for PPI claim back. I asked for her surname and she was reluctant to give it, but I said it was only fair as she had mine. She gave the name as Shaw and the company was London based. I asked her to have my name removed from their database but she said she was unable to do that. I said I was registered with the TPS but she seemed not to understand. I spelt out that registering with the Telephone Preference Service should prevent my receiving unsolicited, cold calls such as this one. She gave up then and said I would receive no more.
PPI Claimline has web site www.ppiclaimline.com and telephone no. 0800 078 649. Maybe Cecilia Shaw does not work for them but just uses their name to lend credibility.- Caller: PPI Claimline

- rogernwjusr had a call from 0301, started to go on about a charity - told him I wasn't interested and hung up. I then reported it as a malicious call as recommended elsewhere on this sight by dialing 147714771477, waiting to see if it works.
