Call back from British Gas after requesting such when in a call queue with a long wait time.

Call back at 12.16 am after requesting one from British Gas at 11am earlier that day, due to over an hours delay befote they would be able to answer call.  They rang off before we could answer, so are they just ticking boxes?!

I was calling them yesterday as we have no heating and hot water in this sever cold weather, we both me & my Husband are over 60' I was waiting on the phone from 8pm to 2am and the minute they answered they put the phone down even before I say hello.
and now I contacted home care number which I have and left my number for them to call me, I received a call from 03332029500 and before I answer they put the phone down again.

Why does this number keep calling me?

yes, can verify it is British Gas Homecare, having requested a call-back due to busy period and projected wait-time of 18 mins; system worked perfectly & they were very helpful.

Was not at home when the caller rang. Had the annual gas boiler serviced yesterday. Believe this was a follow up call from British Gas.

Received from this 03332029500 today (17/5/2018) saying that my British Gas boiler service was due. I then asked him when was my last service conducted (I know my boiler service was not yet due). The guy claimed from BG kept me on hold then he hanged off. Very obvious the caller was not genuine and he was trying to fish for information. Please be vigilant!

In my case, while I wasn't expecting call from BG, my c/htg annual service IS now (over)due, as they keep reminding me by email.  Having just fixed time & date, I'll see who turns up as the bloke I spoke to did't do any phishing, just booked my appointment, no prob.
Oh, there was a slight "hang" on the call, as these call centre systems dial several numbers contemporaneously and the first to connect will knock out any of those subsequently being answered or ringing, unless another of their call team becomes available.  Don't take it personally, that's just how it works ....

Called by this number at 08:17 - picked up; male (comical Indian accent) said 'Hello, Good Afternoon . . . . ' then paused.  Slightly puzzled at his chronological confusion, I said 'Hello' again, then he hung up.
If it really IS British Gas, somebody in their call centre needs a boot up the backside!

Same story.  Call at 8.15am.  Caller hung up as soon as I answered.

Apparently from Paragon Guidance - Robot call asking about insurance accident that wasn't my fault.

Caller said that she was from British Gas and that my annual boiler service was due.  I told her (truthfully) that I always booked online and would attend to this.  When I checked my records, I found that the last service was done only 9 months ago (I thought it didn't seem that long since they last came).  Not sure whether it was genuine.

Have checked this number with British Gas. Its not them. Its a scam.

You are phoning back a scam. Look up British Gas and get the correct phone number.

Automated survey request call from British Gas following an engineer calling on me yesterday.

THIS IS DEFINITELY A SCAM - I have confirmed with British Gas Homecare that they have no record of anyone trying to contact me from 03332-029500. They have agreed to investigate. Someone is spoofing their number to gain access to unsuspecting customers' addresses. BEWARE - this is a very nasty scam and IGNORE any posts which state otherwise.

03332029500 called at 12:52 today. Seems to be British Gas wanting me to complete a survey on my recent engineer's visit (I was without heat or hot water since Wednesday - he arrived on Thursday but had to order parts and then the boiler was fixed on Monday).

Seems genuine (but Caller ID's can be faked). After answering the first question on my phone's keypad they wanted me to explain my answer after the tone - I disconnected; I'll do the survey by pressing buttons but if they want me to explain my every answer they can forget it.
