Called my mobile. Didn't recognise number so didn't answer.

Spoken with nice lady today. She said she is working for HSBC Bank and updating details of customers and this update will be carried every year.

Received a call from this number on my landline today.  Male said he was calling from John Lewis Financial Services; knew my name.  Asked to carry out some security checks but I pointed out I couldn't be sure he was calling from John Lewis.  He suggested I call the number on the back of my card or on statements and ask for 'Security'.  So first I put the number in 'whocallsme' and see Paulo's post so I'm pretty sure it's a scam.

Oops - I was too security conscious.  This number was genuine.  Sorry JL Financial Services.

Got a call from this number. Man said it's HSBC about a mortgage I've applied recently. Knew my name and asked relevant question. Should be genuine.

Unsolicited call from this number, I ignored it.

Another unsolicited call from this number. I ignored it again.

My local branch of HSBC regarding a conversation I had in the branch a couple of hours previously (from the voicemail left).

Got a call to my Mobile. I don't know how they got my number and said he is from HSBC.
I told him HSBC don't normally call like that. He is like African origin. Couldn't pronounce my name even.
I knew it was a Scam and greeted him very well with **** ***. Hope he will not call me again.

I got two calls from this number today. I didn't answer them, and no voice message was left. Reading this and other threads, it seems that it is an HSBC number, but there are a whole variety of reports of who exactly it is, and what the purpose of the call has been. Some are saying they've been asked personal details. Do NOT give out or confirm personal details over the phone beyond your name and address. Contact HSBC (or whoever the caller says they are) directly yourself. They'll likely contact you by email anyway if they can't get you on the phone.

Worrying. At HSBC (Epsom) I paid in a cheque, at the automatic machine at 15:07 and then proceeded to withdraw cash from the other machine.  When I got home I dialled 1471.  03456032775 had phoned (no message left) at 16:07, exactly an hour after I was in the bank.  Do you think HSBC's security is at risk??? Are certain areas being hacked?

This is definitely HSBC. I called them the evening before an this was the number used when they returned my call.

Received a call from this number asking for an unusual name. Definitely not myself. I am THE only person that has ever had this phone number (15 years). Don't understand why I'm getting called.

i've had 5 calls a day from this number for the last week. never answer it and they never leave a message. It now goes straight to my reject list.

For once a genuine call, HSBC, from my branch with information about the safekeeping they hold for me.

My daughter recently agreed a mortgage with HSBC. i got a call from this number from an asian sounding guy who said he was from HSBC, asking for her to call back on 0345 6030 171. I was suspiscious and contacted HSBC via live chat. They checked and replied NOT to respond as the number was not HSBC.

Just been on Live Chat with HSBC and they confirm that this is NOT one of their numbers, beware people .
