Andrew Wall's assertion that he will only send you these harrassing txt messages if he cannot contact you by conventional means is an outright lie.

I recently had the displeasure of being contacted by Mr Wall for a dubious debt for dvds over 3 years ago. Whilst we were negotiating payment by phone, and after recieving a letter giving me a future date by which to pay, i recieved one of these txt messages saying my case has been 'escalated' (oooooh!).

The thing is i probably would have paid up if i didnt recieve this bloody txt as i thought i was negotiating in good faith but if this is they way they do business then they are going to get a fight as per Mikey's excellent advice.

Have been getting these letters and SMS' for over 3 years, nothing has been registered against my official credit rating even though they claim to have listed them 2 years ago. They could be referring to a registry that video stores maintain themselves: http://www.videodefaulters.com.au/  But the likelihood of me ever signing up to another video store is slim to none!

Yes I too have spoken to Andrew who is chasing a $15 debt for a video from McAdam Flix Movies & Games in 2013.  When I enquired why McAdam Flix did not chase this debt back then, Andrew told me that they do not chase debts under $15. McAdam Flix Movies and Games have closed.  They have no authority to collect from a business that has since ceased business and not in liquidation.  They must also provide proof of the debt e.g. member number, full member details, date item was rented and returned, sending a notice/letter/statement does not justify proof.  The txt numbers used by them are 03 9752 6206  and 03 9752 6666.   Refer them to your Solicitor.

If they keep hassling you, request a copy of your Terms of Trade that you signed with the video store, as well as a copy of when the item was rented and returned.  They should have this information if they are chasing outstanding monies, otherwise they do not have any legal stand or proof.  Website is legalandcommercial.com.au, the website has no postal/street/email address details of their companies (apparently more than one) which is strange for a debt recoveries company and the website looks like it was slapped together.  They are not listed in the White or Yellow Pages.

This is not true never have i received  mail or anything  from video  easy stating i owe money .this is unfair to say the  least that you message  people without trying  to contact
