I get a call from this number around 6pm every day - if I answer it hangs up, if I try to ring back it does not answer - it's driving me nuts!

I have received a call from this number, the last few days at various times.  When you answer they just hang up and when you return the call nobody answers.

Hi I keep getting them too at all different times. They hang up and when I try and call back no one answers. I also have the same problem with unknown numbers too.

This number called me.. and sed they were from a tutoring company

have had enough of this number ringing every 2 or 3 days. as soon as i say hello they hang up. gettin rather frustrating

I have the same problem, in NZ - missed calls from this number on my land line when I come home each evening.  Looking at the dates of the original posts, this has clearly been a problem for a lot of people for a long time.........

Lolz this company keeps calling but my phone is off the hook, however my SIP phone sends me e-mail with how many times they've called. 5 times with caller id and 5 times without.

You can rest assured I won't be answering them, they can keep ringing :)

Ditto here, now it is my turn in Western Queensland. Anyone have luck in finding who they are?

I got the calls tonight between 7:00 - 7:30pm. When I called them back it failed or said engaged and then i tried again and it rung out countless times.
I knew the number was from the Gold Coast as i have lived there before and did some telemarketing myself with a company down there, and I was told that there a alot of companies on the Gold Coast calling people from the national white and yellow pages and other advertising booklets such as newspapers. Asking for peoples names, numbers and payment for various things, such as tutoring companies, OHS magazines, workplace health and saftey magazines and people posing as emergency officers asking for donations for the Police, Ambulance Services and the Fires department.

I'm giving this infomation out to the public out of the goodness of my heart, I have been scamed countless times and I dont want anyone else to have to suffer from this as rough as I have.

I hope I have helped you people out in your quests into this Scam as such.

I received calls every day this week from this mob.  I don't answer, as I know they are scammers.

I have been having the same problem as a lot of the people, I have not tried returning call as number is unknown. No one answers or leaves a message.

We've had the same problem.  Based on earlier posts I phoned them last night.  It is the tutoring company from Queensland.  (http://www.nationaltutoring.com.au) had the same experience as others - they apologise and say they'll take you off the list. I took them to task over this and asked how they would like it if someone called their house every night and hung up.  The woman I spoke with got quite annoyed.  

But it isn't good enough that they apologise to individuals when they call because all they then do is carry on harassing other poor people.  So please, please, please make a complaint to your own phone company about "unwanted calls".  Under the industry code of practice your supplier is obliged to take it up and send warnings.  More than 2 warnings and they have to disconnect them.

I called this number and took the time to find out what it was about. They do not call during the day and are avail on Saturday as this is when I called I spoke to a lady who was very helpful. I asked for her to send the information to me for my daughter to read as she has 2 school aged children. So maybe instead of getting angry you should call and find out the facts for yourelves

It is National Tutoring. They have an automatic dialer which randomly dials telephone numbers, the dialer is set to keep calling you at random times on random days until you answer the phone. Once you have answered the phone and spoken to the person regardless if your interested or not, the auto dialer will stop calling you. If you pick up the phone and don't speak straight away, the auto dialer will think its a disconected number and hangup on you before the telemarketer at National Tutoring gets to speak to you. There is a one and a half second delay from where you pick up the phone to where the person starts speaking to you. Also the auto dialer only rings your phone for about ten seconds, so there is the possibility that it hangs up before you get to the phone in time to answer it. National Tutoring is not a scam, they send out educational information via email to gain your interest, the information is for parents with school age children. National Tutoring is based in Southport Queensland.

Just read about the post regarding National Tutoring - and I rang them on 07 5532 6249 (found their website - contact info) and spoke with a guy you initially denied the 07 5528 3687 was coming out of their office, but when I insisted he came back and admitted it was from their office via an auto-dialer.

I requested that I be removed from their calling list (had to give my mobile No.) and hopefully no more stupid calls! He said I would be taken off.

Hope this may also help others.
