I've got a lot on my bill too, having just returned from Indonesia. I'm with Virgin. However, I think they are genuine texts that I have made but for some reason they appear as this number (the incoming ones have almost the same number but end in 80 or 85. The ones sent are all about the time I sent genuine texts and I can't see any of these. I think it's maybe just the way Virgin records texts from overseas.

    Regards.

This is the Virgin message centre. If you look at your settings you will find this. It's the SIM sending messages back to the home network.

    Looks like a hack/scam.

I'm on T-Mobile and I received a text from a random place with a phone number showing as 000000 and it caused my phone's text settings to change so that my text sending profile had this number +447958879879 in it instead of having my own phone number. I'm guessing if i sent messages with this setting i'd be charged more. I changed it back to my phone own number though.

It looks like some kind of hack/scam whereby you receive a text that changes your phone settings. Check your sms settings and remove this number from there and put your own phone number in.

Had this number charged to my account even though I had inclusive minutes left. Called T-Mobile to find out what was going on and the chap I spoke with said (in a round about way, because I'm not that technically minded sadly), that my number was being used by a 'hacker' on a pc to call Ghana. Apparently they've had a few calls these past few weeks and were more than happy to help with investigating the problems for me.

I don't normally check my bills, but did today and I had 4 lots of 26p calls to numbers I don't recogranise this is one of them. I am also on T-mobile.

I'm concerned that they might continue hacking in? SO will phone T-mobile in the morning.

DId they offer any solution to the problem?

I've also found I've been charged 26p for 07958879879. strangely it was 31 seconds after missing a call, something to do with a missed call text maybe? its not meant to charge though

I have a HTC Desire HD and the number 07958 879879 appeared on my bill for 26p - it appears to be the 'Service Centre' number within the message options - not sure whether this helps?

Further to my comment above, the chap on the phone just said to keep an eye on my bill and if I notice anymore popping up, that I would be entitled to a further refund. He has already refunded the cost of the calls that have already been charged to my account, so I'm glad that he was aware of the issue.

Right now my complaint has been sent to a 'higher level' support rep, who I expect will get back to me within a few days.

    Hope this helps :)

I've also seen a whole lot of random calls from my mobile to this number.  Each one is charged at 17p.  Its already added up to about £6 worth of calls and this is from my unbilled usage.  Worried and going to check how long this has been going on for.  Very upset.

Just been told by T-Mobile that these numbers are seen on their system as 'call-forwarding'.  This is only odd because I'm not really using my phone for anything besides personal pleasure so I know that the people I call are mostly the same. Why all of a sudden I can pick out 5 completely different call forwarding numbers that, if dialled from a landline, all come up as either unrecognised or unable to connect then it has me wondering who would use these call forward numbers?  Its most annoying.

Also got "Divert" billed items on my bill this month to this number. Called t-mobile and they said it was a billing issue in t-mobile and they are working to fix it and refund the customers?
All the numbers (others appear too) labelled as "Divert" and charged for on my bill all belong to "Everything Everywhere".

I've had 2 calls on my T Mobile bill allegedly made to this number, but there is no record of the calls in the 'dialled calls' record on my 'phone. Very strange! I'm going to take this up with T Mobile.
