Listen to you all, cold call this cold call that, complaint this complaint that! We are in the year 2010 and sales calls are a part of this day and age...keep it simple! They can call you up to 8 times a day if you dont answer and there is zip you can do

I have no idea who this is as I do not answer this number or any number I do not recognise .

this is a cheap way to make money as they charge for it

Must get about 3 calls a day from these people, getting really p********d off, have bought a phone that shows me the number that rings now so can totally ignore it.

3 times i picked up the phone to find it was put down on the other side after me saying hello,
4th time i got an ignorant peson talking to me, so i told him i was going to do the same as he done to me the past 3 times he phoned me, & put the phone down on him, he didnt say who he was before i done that

Silent call, if left on the answerphone, but if you answer the call you will hear the phone being put down.

Calls me every day!  telepest!  I don't answer it now.

i have recieved calls from  08000 724699 they say they are from British Gas and the call is regarding me changing provider, they asked me to tell them my full address... when asked why should i tell them and stating your calling me, so you should know it- they went on to babble about Data protection-they rather simple bloke just did not understand why i wouldnt give my details as he was calling me. i have had 4 calls !

i have googled the number and British Gas are not listing it anywhere on their website at all.

I had a call this evening from "Maureen at British Gas" with a very bad Scottish accent.
She asked to speak to my husband then hung up.... very strange.

I dialed 1471 and the call came from 08000 724699, which seems to be British Gas, and on looking on the internet, seems many others have had this trouble too.
I  have kept a note of the time, number etc, and reported it to TPS, so hopefully this is just a one off.

We are ex-directory and registered with TPS so shouldn't be getting these calls at all.

A cold call claiming to be from British Gas wanting to sell me HomeCare.  A bit silly as the HomeCare engineer was here when they rang!

british gas keep phoning but when you answer they put the phone down, when i returned the phone call it 's only a recorded message. cold calling is illegal

It seems British Gas are getting around the TPS by using offshore call centres to 'survey' whether you'd be interested in receiving a call from them.

I had an Indian sounding chap 3 days ago thinking I was the previous occupier of my home, previous by 12yrs, so there lists aren't very up to date. I told him the details he had were all wrong & my name is David Cameron, address is 10 Downing Street, Westminster, London.

Today, a very Scottish sounding chap claiming to be from British Gas called asking for Mr. Cameron !

I let rip with my full force of venom, "why are you swearing" indeed.

Next time I'll play my favourite game & waste at least 30mins of the droids time.

British Gas. Wow what a day this has been, third marketing call.

Was called by this number, and in a round about way .I was accused of been recist.As i didnt want what they where offering.I have never been treated like this in my life.British Gas must be desperate for sales if this is what they are reduced to!
Called British Gas and they confirmed it was from 1 of there sales companies.Apoligised but i am still not happy.They would not take no for a answer.What if that was a vunerable person on the phone?
If it happens again i will leave them.

How pathetic - they admit it is them, and then make out as if they have only just found out it has been happening. Additionally, they blame it on the customer for ticking or failing to tick a box dealing with consent to marketing communications.

What sort of marketing is calling up four times a day and hanging up on the customer?

Pathetic, an absolute disgrace.
