phone rings then goes dead when picked up, has happened 5 times in 3 days

Looks like they're still at it. I have had a call today and they asked for me by name, and like others above said I had won a prize but I had to answer a few questions. Tried to tell me they were not selling anything but, as has already been said, do they really think people are that stupid. I was asked if I was over 40 and as I said yes I apparently quallified for the prize, not that I had done any competition away! Then it transpired to get the prize I had to do a survey. I said I was not interested and was then asked why. I just said I did not have time and then the caller said thank you and hung up. I then found the callers number in my caller ID (0800 387177). A Google search came up with this website. I also rang the number and yes it was Craftmatic Beds. Are Trading Standards really doing something about this company because in the light of this call I had today and others above nothing appears to have changed.

I have had another from this lot tonight. Asked for me be namne (Mr H) and told me they were calling from Craftmatic Beds and I had again won a competition. I very firmly told them it was absolute nonsense as I had not entered any competition and that I had had too many phone calls from them. They hung up!! Will they dare try again?

I refer to my previous message above. I have now contacted my local Trading Standards Office via Bucks County Councils Website to see what they know about this company and what is being done. Watch this space!!

I've been recieving calls from 0800387177, if I answer they ask for Mr Van Dyk who was my ex flat mate... What I don't understand is they don't even try to talk to me, just hang up when I say wrong number?  Wierd and irritating!

Just got a call from this number at work, asking for a specific person, when asked who was calling they hung up.

have caller display so didn't answer call. How do these people get your number? Is there any way to get them to stop?

This number keeps ringing my mobile and when I answer the call the line goes dead - who is this

Shocking that they can get away with this even if you're x directory!

I've been getting calls during the strangest times in the morning..

This number has been calling my phone about five times a day for the last three months. Am so glad I found this website, was so curious as to who was phoning me! I'm only 18, not 80, so I think I'll pass on the bed. Will be reporting this company to Ofcom.

called an elderly lady to tell her she'd won £500 for completeing a survey which she hadn't completed - she sensibly said no thanks - preying on the elderly again !!!

I've had several calls from this number over the last couple of weeks. I had one call originally telling me I'd won £500 but I'd have to have a rep visit me with a demo of the bed. I said no thank you on the phone. Since they continue to phone and when I pick up there's no one there....Its time tele-sales were abolished.

Tthey called my wifes mobile (shes registered under tps) I tried to complain by calling 4 times, they would not let me speak and hung up each time. Hardly what you'd expect from an honest company. Stay away from these people. They should not be allowed to conduct their business in the UK! From what i've read the American side of the company are just as bad. Firts it was an 0800 number then on a Sunday morning, thats right Sunday morning it was 01189516680

Someone called from 0800-387177, asking if I recalled entering a draw for an adjustable bed. When I said, "No," he hung up.

Was asked by name at 19.05 in the evening but husband said I was unavailable - said they were from Craftmatic

Same MO rang, some guy mumbling in the background, you can call up who dialled because the number stores in the phone.  Don't ring them back, its just what they want!

I work with Adults with learning disabilities and have just received a call from a lady I work with, deeply distressed because somebody on this number has phoned her twice today.  

I am concerned that the caller will attempt to sell to my client, who is quite vulnerable. I have advised her to tell the person that she is reporting them and then to hang up.
