I got a call from this number on 21st April 2011 and was talked into giving my credit card number but not the three security numbers on the reverse of card. They said I would get a 30 day trial of discounts on goods at major shops, supermarkets and petrol stations for £1 and the vouchers would arrive within 5 working days, then it would be £9.99 per month after the trial but I could cancel it by calling the 08004083990 number. The man said that they could be contacted on www.valuesaverclub.co.uk  I wasn't happy afterwards so I checked with my credit card company approximately 2 hrs later and they said nothing had been taken out of my account.

Cancel your present card tonight and get a NEW card issued! Otherwise they will charge you a week later. My sister had a similar issue with them and it took weeks to sort out. They also use 0800 408 3990. If you end up getting caught out and need info for the bank or police the the valuesaverclub.co.uk site was registered by:

I had a call about joining value saver for a £1. I joined and have received nothing. Then they took £9.95 out of my account on 15th June 2011. I am trying to contact them but do not have a membership number to log on to their site. Does anyone know how to contact them? Thanks.

Its not a con in that they are an actual company and you do make savings from being with them. What they dont tell you when they phone is the savings are so small its not worth the membership fee!!!!!!!!!!!  Plus if you phone up and cancel, make sure you phone AGAIN!! the next day to make sure the cancellation is done. I cancelled mine and then got billed the membership fee....only £6 but irrelevant as was supposed to be cancelled. When I phoned Vanquis they were worse than useless and totally not interested in helping, and according to Value saver I had never phoned and they had no record of my number ever calling their office....convenient that!  They did immediately refund the money back, said it would take 5 working days but was back the next day, but still a hassle that I could of done without and from reading the above, seems like a regular thing with them.  Wish I'd stuck to my guns and not signed up in the first place

I got this call today & wasn't too happy with the pushy lady, took their details & said that i would think about it & wanted to do some research, so glad that I did. I didn't give any bank info & did feel that the offer was too good to be true. Value savers, think it should be fraudster pinchers.

I phoned the number to cancel this and they have said it is cancelled.Value Saver is brought to you as it states by LA REDOUTE. I will get in touch with the Catalogue staff as well to make sure its cancelled.LA REDOUTE has added £69.00 to my Account, I will not be paying it. When I got a phone call from Value Saver they were very persistent that I join even though I said I would take a look first then decide if it was for me. LA REDOUTE added the £69.00 on my account before  I received the pack so the Catalogue is in on the scam too.

Just called vanquis to discuss some other things, but then noticed while I was on hold and browsing my account online that there was a charge for Valuesavers.  Promptly brought this to the attention of the customer service staff, who was actually very helpful and explained that it was a discount kind of thing which someone would have discussed with me over the phone.  I explained that I have never spoken to anybody from Vanquis over the phone, and she then searched the rest of my statements for similar charges and then promptly said she'll bring the issue up with complaints to arrange for all the charges to be refunded.  We'll see if it happens.

I have just found that value saver have been taking £6.95 from my vanquis card for the last 15 months!!! I always assumed it was a pound shop or something like one when it has appeared on my statements before realising that I live no where near Stafford from where the money says its taken from. I just hope that when I can get through to them Monday they will help me after reading these reviews. I have never received a phone call either to say would I like these deals that the subscription is paying for very very unhappy at the monent!!!!!

I have been caught out by these people, I had a Vanquis card that is now serviced by GRANITE, which is controlled by Cardholder services.
I contacted them about Valuesaver, and to cancel the payments. I was told by them that they cannot cancelthem, it had to be done through Valuesaver, and gave me the following No 01429 243248 this is answered by an automated service, asking for your card No and your 9 digit membership. I do not have a membership No so could go no further
