Well just had this number call on bank holiday Monday. I answered and said hello, could hear a office kinda noise in background. Then said hello again and then they hung up. So what that all about?

Re the number calling claiming to be from 02 I had a missed call from them this evening @ 18.43pm precisely  on the mobile I didn't know who they was until I checked this web site & found  everyone on here had some form of call or missed call etc now I know who it is I've now blocked the number just so you all know 02 never call you direct as I have been a customer of them for a long time & I only get the occasional text from them which states its from 02 so this is a scam call that's why I've blocked it as I don't need any telemarketing calls & they normally work with car phone warehouse for any update sales etc which is via email or text .27/5/15

Had a call from this number today on my mobile saying they were from o2 and was I happy with my contract. Have doubts as whether they are genuine o2. Checked with o2 to see if it was them calling. Unfortunately the person I spoke to was as useful as a chocolate teapot and suggested I block the number.

So why do O2 claim to be unaware of them... You should know never ever to give bank details to an incoming call....

I've just taken this call and had mixed results - he didn't seem to know much about me (I gave him nothing) BUT he did know what contract I was on and when I signed up to it.  Might be a partner but definitely didn't feel like part of O2 and when he started talking about deals I just ended the call.

Just called my mobile, and asked if I wanted a Data Sim Card, for my iPad.   I am with O2, but only on my iPhone.  I only use Wifi for my iPad, so not needed.   :)

What Fred said, these guys are a 3rd party hired out by O2 (i.e. not a scam) to upsell addition products to contract customers as well as to sell contacts to non contract customers. They CAN and WILL answer any questions about how much you spend, what calls you make, etc.

However they will also ask open questions because they're trained to do so.

If you wish to stop reviving calls from them, all you need to do is answer the phone and after about 20 seconds say, "hi, is that Convergys? Please disposition this call as supress would you? Cheers.". As daft as it sounds, talking in their lingo will get you the best result.

That said they may have something to offer of value and they take security of their customers very seriously so don't be afraid to buy if you wish.
