I have recently been called by one of your operatives ( 14:01 on 8th August) with a price comparison against my current supplier of gas and electricity (British Gas).
Everything was going well until he told me I was required to subscribe to a new plan over the telephone. I told him politely that I do not do my financial business over the telephone and would like to see the offer in writing before I made my decision.
He told me that was not possible. I thanked him for his time and told him that we would not be doing business.
Despite my repeated attempts to end the call by saying that I was not going to commit to anything over the telephone, he began haranguing me with ridiculous analogies about phoning for taxis etc.
I hung up.
At 14:13 he rang back, and had the temerity to scold me for my rudeness in hanging up on him, claiming that I had been wasting HIS time for 15 minutes as I obviously knew this would result in a verbal contract over the phone. He then hung up on me.

Now, had this gentleman mentioned at the start of the conversation that he was expecting me to conduct my business over the telephone, he could have saved himself a lot of time and high blood pressure as I would have told him there and then that he was wasting his time.

I do NOT appreciate the hard-sell technique employed by this gentleman, nor his downright rudeness at disrespecting my polite efforts to inform him that I would not conduct business over the telephone, and in the past have got rid of British Gas for ten years thanks to one of their operatives doing the same thing.

I would have appreciated the chance to make comparisons with the information laid out in front of me, and may well have given Scottish Power my custom, although thanks to this bombastic sales hack that is unlikely to be happening now.
Perhaps your telesales people should mention beforehand that they are expecting an answer on the telephone and save themselves wasting their time

It is owned by the Spanish. Perhaps a crass racist comment about Paella or bullfighting would be more appropriate than the crass racist one about 'porridge'

been calling me on mobile everyday why?

scottish power; called my mobile a few times, blocked em out now so no more calls. i got electricity if it runs out or stops i call electricity company simple.

I anyone getting nuisance calls to android mobile phones use the app called call control it is free to download and can b used to stop such calls. I use it regularly, u can stop all withheld and unknown numbers quite hand worth a look for free.

ive found that scottish power reps, are one of the rudest, ive had one at the door who go very pushy when i told him i was happy and cheaper with eon, he was not amused, and tried to contradict me, i know exactly how much cheaper i am with eon, i was with scottish power before them, if its not them at the door they are phoning seriously sick of them

Keep calling, but just ignore, have read the other posts so it must be Scottish power. So not interested, but if they want to keep wasting their time, so be it. They should also read the posts!!

Ive had this number ring me 3 times now, next time they ring im gunna answer and say im a gypsy and i live in a caravan and im not interested thanx. And hopefully they will delete me from there call list. What ya think?!!! Great idea or what!

This number has called me every single day for about 2 weeks now. they never leave a message. its getting really annoying! Dont know why they are calling me. i dont have my own place so i cant change provider.

Just been reading through previous comments and have been having the same problem with this number calling me every day for the past week. Have now saved the number to my mobile contacts and sent them straight to voicemail. Bet they don't leave any messages though. What a pain in the back side. How do they get everyones number? Not even the bill holder for our house for utilities so it's not from anything like that. Cheek of it!!!

Rang me yesterday but couldn't answer. I don't pay any bills regarding power in my house, so not sure where they have my number from. Fighting a losing battle ringing me though.
