Anyone had a call from this number and knows who it is? It rang for half a second and then rang off. Had a call from a similar number a few days ago which did exactly the same thing. Don't want to call it back in case I get charged a fortune.

Yep, same for me as njlmum. Called for a few secs today before ringing off. Similar number (08432767217) did the same four days ago. All a bit dodge.

recommend you ingnore any of these calls from 0843 numbers.  Been called by a nuber of them, always hang up and then a recorded message if you call back

I had both these numbers recorded as calling. The best way to deal with them is the delete button.

had two  recently. Kinda funny as 0843 numbers do charge for you to call them, but it is quite a low charge. I guess they are just focussing on a significant number of  people calling them back to make money so don't.

Had exactly the same two numbers call me.  It'll be some scam I suspect.  Hope I haven't won the Nigerian lottery again,  all this money is becoming embarrasing!

Had this number call twice, 11th and 12th January 2011.  Tried calling the number back and got a "Your call has failed to connect" message.

Same had this one today (W*&%$£$)!

just had one of these call for the first time...I was waiting on a call from a friend on a new phone so answered and got the recorded message...I've saved it in my phone under 'skanky number' so I don't answer it in future without thinking.

This number called me today on my mobile, but it only rang for about 3 seconds! Also had a missed call from another number yesterday, and a 'private number' today! Something strange going on! :/

Ive had the same here..my phone rang for about 3 seconds..wakin me up i may add! but its only one of a variety of similar no's. Im not answerin an not even goin to try call them back...i thought today with the 3 2nd ring ring..this is deffo a scam..told to callus an i think the staff cant be bothered much but needs to be shown that they called anyway...block on its way!!

It's a recorded message which I get every couple of days. Trying to tell you how you can claim back monies owed to you - for a fee of course - would be nice to get them to stop but if you call the number back you just get a recorded message - plus a charge probably!
Does anyone know how to get rid of these unwanted, nuisance calls once and for all?

I just got a call from them as well. So many people here are complaining and it seems none of us can do anything about it, such a sad scenario. I listed them and each time when they call I shall post their numbers here and in hope someone will know who they are. I am pleading them to stop these as I have received so many in the time of 10 months. they just pass our details off to another firm and the phone just do not stop at all. I am ex-directory, TPS and ofcom registered for nuisance calls and yet is not stopping. See below if anyone is receiving the same kind of calls as I have and do research online to identify and named and shamed them. Someone out there somewhere knows who they are!!!!!!! STOP THESE.

These are the numbers that has rang me frequently, Good thing the answerphone works remarkably well so I can just ignore them and each time they call I just log it and tell the world what a pain these calls are and don't bother to call them back as they are just scammers......

Today, within 10 minutes 2 calls all at once..... I am determined to not be upset with these pests!

i think this is a number used by the jd williams group along with 08000728401 because i got the first call from 0800 number the guy said hello twice then hung up, within 2 minutes a got the automated call from the 0843 number.
its nothing short of harrassment.
