Called up trying to sell web domain we already own

I've just had a call from Victoria Harrington on this number.
She has told me she's calling from UK Registry (No such company on a google search)
which is the "largest UK Registration company" (doubtful if they don't have a webpage)
tellling me that someone has put in an application for .net and .info of our domain name.
She says by law she has to contact me (not correct - anyone can register a .net or .info domain in the UK if it is available)
Then she tries to intimidate by saying that if they create a nice looking website it will take all our traffic (we own the trade mark and woudl take action against anyone trying to trade under our company name)
I politely said we're not interested to try not to attract her unwanted attention/help/advice/fraudulent/lying.

Just be polite and don't deal with this number which belongs to a company that doesn't exist and tells lies to try and extort information from you.

The post mentioned seems to have their facts incorrect, i too had a call from that company, however , after further checks, we found out that a new start company had started up in our area, and had actually already taken all of the names, by the time i had finished speaking with the Uk registry, it was too late, as the other company had gone to another provider and registered automatically, they do have a website, its not called just UK REGISTRY, it is THE UK REGISTRY, which i have been on myself, friends of mine have registered with them, and no problems at all, sometimes people need to get their facts straight before posting comments, especially when they post half truths, and miss out bits of information, and make slanderous comments due to ignorance.

Strange. No trace of a website for 'The UK Registry' either. Also very strange that anyone would google the number of a Company they were happy with? This site is to report unknown callers, scams etc. Perhaps someone could post the correct website details on here?

lol! I found the website! A long way down on google though.

Just had a call from these guys, in all fairness i was a bit suspicious at first, however, it turns out that it was an ex employee trying to use my name, i have proof of this now, as i didnt register the name, so he did, and it is his details on my domain, if i had of listened to them, i would have prevented it. now i am having to try and buy the name back from him...thanks for the call though.
