Rang this morning at 04:43. Will report as a nuisance.

Received a phone call to landline at 04:14am.  Yes, quarter past four in the morning.  As Jay reported below on June 29th, it said something about the possibility of being entitled to compensation from your bank, with the option to press 5 or 9.  The phone call frightened me, and left me unable to go back to sleep.

Similar to last post - 2.30 in the morning.

With sick elderly relatives this is extremely worrying - have reported to offcom. suggest everyone else affected does the same asap

Have been called twice by this number. Obviously a recorded cold caller. First call was received at 2345 on Sunday night and then today at 1030

And I reported using this site - which to a first time user is not obvious that that report now appears on this page.

Wish the authorities would clamp down on this with more than empty words. Same number repeat calling here. Other countries do it better, one big cartel and the 'government' or
probably has shares.

I had a call from this number at 0517 on the 28th June. I have a 97 year old mother and two police officers (son and daughter) I rushed downstairs fearing the worst. I know what I'd like to do to these people.

Had a call from this number about 30 minutes ago but it was silent. Their computer must be dialling faster than it can connect! Do NOT phone this number as part of the cost of the call you make goes to the owner of the number. I suspect this is why the number has called so many people in the small hours - to goad people into phoning back in anger.

Called today left half a message on answering machine about a refund  must be suspect!

call at 12.30am. Previous call day before at 1.30. Call re payment from bank allegedly.

I was so worried when my phone was ringing at 2:30am thought something was wrong wiv a family member and my 2 year old was woken up took me ages to settle him again this is ridiculous!

I believe this scum are ringing at ungodly hours so you will press the already claimed
request, to get rid of them. This will probably cost you a fortune!!!

We have got off very lightly - our call was at 5.20pm. Recording of well spoken male saying we were due compensation from our bank for 'fees'.  Will report to ICO

Phoned yesterday afternoon on landline, but call taken by ansaphone.  Caller didn't bother to leave any message.

To call from an 0844 number the caller must presumably have a UK base, and so these activities could be stopped if the government decreed.  But, wait .. the caller is undoubtedly within the private sector and therefore exempt from penalties;  if these nuisance calls derived from the public sector there would have been high-profile ministerial sackings long ago.

Rang my landline at 11:00 today.  It was a recorded message about being owed a refund by my bank (although of course it didn't name my bank!). The standard 'press 5 to claim' or 'press 9' if you have already claimed. I'm registered with the Telephone Preference Service but still get a fair few nuisance and scam calls like this.

Where do these people get numbers from? What is it to them whether I want a refund or not? And the fact that the number is registered with TPS makes no difference. Beyond any joke.
