This is what I have sent them ...

Myself, and many others, are getting a constant barrage of calls from a number which belongs to yourselves. The number is 08446860199 and the calls are trying to sell Insolvency Voluntary Agreements. If the call is not answered, a message is left.

I am called at least twice a day by these parasites, despite being registered with the Telephone Preferences Service, some are called in excess of five times a day.

I demand that you take action to close this number down, and any other similar numbers.

Just had a call from 08446860199 - they usually withhold their number - some digging suggests it's actually the company discussed here:

Naturally we're on the TPS and have barred several of their numbers...

Additional to the above - blocking them this time shows the actual originating number to be 01616010066, which they were using last summer.

Surprise, surprise. Core Telecom haven't replied to my email.

By the time those guys get round to sorting anything out we will have another new Government.   Have you tried dealing with them?

If anyone knows the name of the company actually making the calls, I'd love to find out and pay them a personal visit! Absolutely sick of them now.

I've just had this number call me but I never answer if it looks like an unsolicited call. I Google the number then to see if it comes up on sites like this. I think this is the best course of action, if everyone does the same then the cost of them operating the system will be more than the revenue they get from fewer customers.

I HAVE SEVERAL CALLS FROM THEM PER WEEK ON THIS NUMBER SO WAITED TILL IT SAID PRESS 2 TO SPEAK TO ADVISOR,DID SO AND 3 TIMES IVE ASKED THESE CLOWNS TO TAKE NUMBER OFF THEIR LIST.THEY HANG UP ON ME IGNORANT T**SERS ITS HARRASMENT AND SHOULD BE REPORTED TO TRADE N STANDARDS.

After recieving yet another call from 08446860199 today I wrote a rather stroppy email to core telecom, and surprisingly enough got a response.

I've asked the chap who emailed me back to make a post here - who knows, maybe there is a solution to getting these muppets to stop calling us ?

His response as follows:

Hi Lee, thanks for email we do take any comments seriously and they don'tfall on deaf ears.Just to correct you on a few points. We are a Telecoms network, we don't solicit services, we earn revenue from transmitting calls. The calls thatcome to you are not from us or on our network. The people who you refer to as <censored> are service providers who take our numbers and run on our network. If they have being doing anything 'illegal' we will remove them. I need to clarify a few things so I can investigate. What is the number that is calling you so I can pin down which service provider is providing service, so I can have your number removed from any databases they hold.Thanks for email

And another response from the rep @ core telecom - he can't post here (company policy...), but has assured me that all emails to them will get answered and that they will do what they can to remove your private numbers from muppets such as these nuisance call companies...

does any body get charged for these incomming calls from above or other numbers like these  we had our recent phone bill and had a total of 28 calls of which we know we have nt made as we hardley use the phone only for my mum to call one of her friends or me these are mobile numbers and they showed up on bill. we are curently waiting for the itimised bill to be sent so we can check numbers and are gunna start wrighting down all incomming calls times and nimbers just in case

One of the posters earlier on said that "0844 686 0199" seems to have some relation to "0161 601 0066".

i get calls but it is a recorded message saying that the are from payment protection refund and if i want my refund processed press 5 then or if i want a refund press another number then the line goes dead i rang back once and was told i could go online but can't remember the website
