- Handsome Jackson| 1 replyThe name of Littlewoods may have changed to 'Very' and is related to Shop Direct Finance Company Limited. Though I got the number from a letter informing me of some fraud which was not successful.
- kate replies to Handsome JacksonI did as well today letting me know someone had opened an account in my name and tried to order 450 pounds of goods to deliver to another address..
- steveGot an insurance policy in the post from Shop Direct Finance Company re shopping insurance for an account I was supposed to have opened with VERY, ( I had never heard of them).
I phoned them up on 0844 811 1220 to report it and they then gave me a 08000151290 to report it to.
Phone this number who then gave me 0844 822 4650 to phone, it is apparantly (not yet verified) the security and investigations dept for VERY. They told me some one had tried to set up an account in my name, asked some basic details eg DoB, middle name, how long lived at house and said they would report it to CIFAS? I am still investigatiing I do not know if this is a scam or genuine, Can anyone else throw some light on it ?- Caller: VERY
- JohnThe number did not call me, but asked me to contact it in a letter.
Just had a conversation with a lady at Shop direct finance who has also told me my details have been used for a fraudulant application, similar to other people on this thread.
They asked me to confrim my DOB, how long I've been resident and a couple of telephone numbers.
They said they will put a marker against my name at CIFAS, (who i have checked they are a member of), and gave me advise regarding who else to contact.
Seems pretty genuine, no selling involved, nothing asked that could not be obtained elsewhere.- Caller: Shop Direct

- John2| 1 replySame letter - call Claire Sullivan from littlewoods on 0844 822 4650
Checked littlewoods website - contact number given as 0844 822 8000, so rang this.
Turned out letter was genuine and an attempt had been to be set up an account in my name.
Transfered to the investigations dept, who asked me to ring 0800 number given above (08000151290)- Caller: littlewoods
- Ben replies to help meI had a letter from the investigation office how can you prove to me that this is not a scam
- SteI can confirm this number is genuine. I had a letter come through to contact a Claire Sullivan regarding my Littlewoods account. I had, in fact, opened an account and closed it the same day. I rang the number, gave them my account number, name, address, DoB, and the woman on the other end knew details that only someone working at the company would have known. This was well over a month ago and nothing unscrupulous has happened.

I also received the same letter as John2 and took the same steps.
It took a while to speak to a Littlewoods advisor but he was very helpful
and gave me the same contact number. I confirm that this is Shop Direct Finance who
were contacting me about an attempt to open an account in my name. They were rightly
convinced this was fraudulent and acted on it.
It doesn't help when people post this as
a "scam"and state that the "fonts were wrong"!!!
Don't ignore it,if you are not sure ring Littlewoods contact no.on their website. - mick w replies to SIDNEY THOMAS| 1 replyYou do need to act on this. See the other posts.

Hi all, I received the same letter today from Claire Sullivan to say an account was opened up in my name online. The account was set up on 12th March 2012 and they placed an order on 30th March 2012. Apparently 'I' was a new customer! Unbeknown to them I already had a dormant account with Kay's and they were suspicious that I hadn't ordered from it for a long time; a mobile phone amongst other expensive goods were ordered. They gave me a freephone identity theft team number for Shop Direct Finance to phone. They were very helpful and gave me some good advice. Last week someone had opened up an account using my details with Kaleidoscope and I received a parcel. This company has no relation to Shop Direct. This is not a scam. - ALThis is a genuine letter/call/email from someone at the Shop Direct Group Littlewoods, Marshall Ward and other catalogues etc.
If you don't have an account and haven't tried to open one, then it usually means that someone has tried to open one in your name and it has set alram bells ringing in their fraud section.
If you do have an account with them, sometimes they contact you if they spot an unusal pattern on your account, like somebody has hacked it.
You can ring them and get through to the same people using the freephone number 0800 0151290
It's in your best interests to ring them, it's not a scam and it's not debt collectors. - asd replies to SIDNEY THOMAS0844 is a fairly cheap rate number!!
