    Hi,

My sister has the same problem with this number - it calls every night at 04.16am.

I believe that it may be linked to a burglar alarm.

My sister has an ADT monitored alarm. Do you?

Please email response to me at williamacparker@yahoo.co.uk

    Hi there,

I have the same problem, on my BT bill, this number has called 87 times!!
Any progress locating if this is ADT? We have an ADT alarm too.

I've queried this with BT but offered no assistance....!

Initially I thought it was our ISP. If I make any progress investigating this will report back.

    Cheers

    Hi Linda,

Are you picking this up with ADT?

This is ADT we rang up and confirmed with them since we had 94 cals apear on our bill which came to £13.

I think we are better off with a plastic box on the wall considering how much this is costing each year.

Me too, just checked the itemised billing on my Sky Talk and I've had daily calls every month for 18 months - I seem to be charged 14p per call, which amounts to £4.20 a month.  They didn't tell me they would be charging that, and given I'm already paying £30 per month for the servicing, seems a bit steep...

    Mr John Williamson
Hi found the same when checking my Sky bill. Got an ADT alarm installed on the 26th March and have 14no call between 10:04 and 12:03 total cost £2.27 then 24p on 27th then 14p on 28th, 29th and 30th.
Has anyone contacted ADT to find out whats going on as I can't find these costs in my contract.

We have had SOOOOO many issues with ADT. In March this year the bill came to £1600 for 1 month because the alarm rang every minute of every day for 30 days! It took 8+ weeks to get this amount back from ADT and many calls. From May to July i did not switch the ADT alarm back on because i was so paranoid. We went on holiday in July and on 4th August the ADT engineer came in and plugged everything up again. From 4th August to 20th August the bill has come to £7 just for ADT - calls out on average 4 times a day. I have a senior engineer coming in tomorrow to check things out. I will let you know what happens. Surely ADT should have a free number that works for SKY talk??

You can get a free phone number that your ADT Alarm rings, this costs £1pm but is only compatible with some ADT alarm systems.
We have had numerous problems with ADT culminating in a bill in excess of £3,000.  Sky have produced an itemised bill for me and I now need to get over 480 pages to ADT.  I really hope it doesn't take me 8+ weeks to get this refund as this has been going on since 6 August 2010 and is really stressing me out.
Has anybody had to resort to a Solicitor?

you will need to keep on calling the local ADT office until they move the paper work for you. They eventually do. But in the meantime it is stressful and takes a loooooooooooooong time. Hang in there!

We too have experienced what ADT describes as 'multiple signals', culminating in a 200 pound phone bill (it would have been more but Sky Talk put a block on premium out-going calls when they noticed multiple erratic calls to the same premium number). Having spoken to a rather helpful IT technician today at ADT, maybe I can (try to!!) explain the problem ADT are facing (and keeping very quiet about!). Sky Talk have recently changed their network system, when your ADT alarm rings out to check the line is working (it is programmed to do this daily, up to a maximum of 10x) it basically takes longer for the signal to get through to ADT and just when it reaches ADT and connects, (therefore charging you for the call) when it tries to return the signal to your alarm to say received, your alarm is too busy ringing out again because it couldn't hear the signal being returned (following?!!). So you are being charged for every call out (ADT say up to 10x per day but I'll wait to receive my itemised bill from Sky Talk before I believe it!). The IT technician said ADT are fully aware of the problem and have a short term fix, but not enough capacity to accomodate ALL customers with this problem, hence why they haven't contacted all customers facing this problem. Aparently they are 'working together with Sky Talk to try and reach a solution'!!!!!. I can see this appearing on Watchdog soon!!. As for getting re-imbursed for the telephone charges, I was told to contact the Customer Service Manager at my 'local' branch. I have left 2 x voicemails for the guy today and as of yet he has not returned my call. I will persevere and if there's any trouble I'LL be the one writing to Anne Robinson!!.

I am an engineer working for ADT and have the answer to your questions. without getting to complicated the problem started when sky changed how their broadband worked, basically they change each month the provider they use so they get the cheapest rate, when they last switched the problem started with alot of galaxy ADT systems. When the alarm signals to the receiving centre it does this ok, but if the alarm panel does not receive the signal back confirming this has been received then it will send again and again !!! it will display COMMS FAIL, which means it isn't monitoring correctly. as Joanna said we are working with sky to sort this issue out but it is sky who changed their broadband not ADT or you as customers so they should fix it.

forgot to mention their are free phone numbers which can be used to signal but we as engineers have to put the standard 0871, 0906 during installation but a  phone call to our resolve department should get the the free alternatives.

The 0800 numbers are available for just about every monitored system. The same number can't be used for them all, some are specific to certain panels.
