    Hi diane,

Have you heard anything back?  Did you end up in court?

I had a call from the IDBC today offering to save me money on my business rates.  They said I have 7 days to cancel so I said OK, why not.  As soon as I got off the phone I checked online and found posts like yours.  I called them right back and cancelled, they said OK that's been cancelled and gave me a reference number.  I guess it's not the last I will be hearing from them. What a bore........

    Thanks.

    IDBC Ltd - 08451802505

I just had a call from these people, Kate....  I said OK to the 14 day call off period.  I put down the phone, checked the internet and found your messages.  I called them right back and spoke to some guy called Ryan Garwood.  He said that's fine to cancel and gave me a ref number RG2609.  I asked for email confirmation of the cancellation but he said he can't do that and assured me that it was cancelled.  I guess it's not the last I have heard from them.

I think I will adopt the ignoring tactic and hope they disappear...............

If anyone has any advice please let me know,

    Thanks

Shaun from IDBC phoned the company phone line saying he was from the Inland Revenue and needed to speak to the proprietor urgently concerning to arrange for a refund on Business Rates as the company had been overcharged.I refused to give him the number and looked the number up on Google and found these messages from people who had been conned. Needless to say the proprietor will not be phoning them back.

After receiving your invoice and after some research of my own I have come to realise your deceit . I was led to believe that my agreement with you was on a no win no fee basis, an acknowledgement from the VOA is not a win and certainly does not mean you can invoice me for. After informing the VOA and Trading Standards of my experience it is clear that your methods are unethical and somewhat sly. I make it clear to you I have no intentions of paying the invoice you sent me and I strongly urge you to refrain from making any contact with me , I am also going to be sending a copy of this e-mail to the VOA and will be informing them that I wish to take the appeal in my own name!

This is my response to this scam after experiencing the same as you guys, there getting sweet FA from me. I spoke to trading standards and the VOA and found out that all there doing is going on the VOA website and filling in application which is free for you to do yourself. Has anyone listened to their "verbal agreement with ourselves" repeats "SIR"?  Just keep repeating to him no win no fee and acknowledgement from the VOA is not a win then listen how "SIR" flips his lid LOL!

I have a friend who has a similar set up but he makes it clear that they charge  £170 upfront to deal with the application regardless of it being successful or not, He's had many a people who tried to set him up by having police or solicitors listening into the consultation , but the clients were told that everything is above aboard and legal.

I hope this two bob company (IDBC) read this comment and realise that people are aware of their rights and understand when they are being misled. So IDBC you can try to spin as many legal loopholes as you like but you're not getting a penny!!!

Take a look at the telephone number I have given in an earlier post.  There is lots of information on that number about how to deal with this lot.   It is unlikely that they took Alison to court as they would have lost big time.  You will see from other posts on here that they have already been defrauding HMRC by charging VAT illegally.  Trading Standards are also well aware of them.  The main thing is, don't worry.

    Beat The Scammers!
Our company had a run in with IDBC. Offered a no win no fee deal. being an idiot we accepted and recieved documents through post. then next day recieved an invoice for around 500 quid ! rang up and was told it was a no case no fee the liars! Told them we had been missold and wanted to cancel but they said we could not and it was a verbal agreement. Alarm bells here.

Ring the action fraud line. Set up by the police for this kind of thing 0300 123 2040.

The people of action fraud line laughed and said this company were jokes and not to pay a penny as they had no case and would not take us to court.

we rang IDBC told them they had been reported and we wouldn't be paying. 4 months on not one call. BRILLIANT!
