As mobile phone reception is hopeless where I live (and work) the person on the other end, if there was one, didn't get the chance to say anything. It might have been Dennis Publishing as I used to subscribe to one of their magazines but I don't know for sure.

got a call from these guys, a common woman came over asking for "Julie"

All I get is a partial (automated) voicemail saying that they'll call back: I'm guessing it's the aforementioned magazine offering me a subscription... 3rd time now, getting bored.

I Keep getting unsolicitated calls from this number

I managed to get a call on a phone that only 1 person in the whole world (not joking) knows the number of and thats' the person who sent me the phone as a gift from Korea, even I can't remember the number so how did these prats get the number. I nearly jumped out of my skin when it rang as I knew it was the middle of the night in Seoul, I thought something bad had happened.

Getting calls from 08452 860605 calling themselves < sales@dxi-easycall.net > ! Phoned them !! and option one ( 1 ) suggests you enter the e-mail or website address !! Completely ambiguous results from either option !!! 'Phoned BT helpline ( I have a BT landline ), they have registered my enquiry and put me on nuisance call alert. They think it is a sales or malicious site. Just praying now that I do not get charged for the calls to the site. Don't make the same mistake ( BT assured me that they were looking into it !!!, Hope no one else makes the same mistake!!!! This is just a HEADS UP for anyone else that may have been called by this organisation. This message is WITHOUT PREJUDICE. All replies welcome!?!?!

I try to text these people back and tell them to go away.  The only one that rejects the texts is this one.

I've been receiving a lot of calls from this number recently.

It is Dennis Publishing trying to offer you a free trial subscription to one of their products.

Unfortunately they use an auto-dialer that calls all the numbers on their list and if you answer tries to put you in touch with a sales agent.  If their is no sales agent available you just end up with the call being cut off, or in some cases you hear background noise in the call centre but no-one answers.  

On about the 6th/7th time they called me someone answered and I asked them to remove my number from the list.  I think the only way to avoid this is to answer the call and ask them to remove your number, and of course to make sure you do not subscribe to any Dennis Publishing products or free trials in the future, unless you want to receive lots of silent phone calls all day.

A very unprofessional way to operate a sales and marketing department (by p*ssing off your potential customers before they have even bought your products) but I guess it works for them.

I used to get similar calls from the Telegraph, a publication you would have thought would treat its customers with more respect.

Sales calls often just connect to the first line that picks up then disconnect the rest. You probably didnt want to talk to them

I got a call from this number yesterday. I could clearly hear someone on the other end breathing and the sound of chatting in a call centre. Then the guy on the other end burps down the telephone before hanging up. No idea who they are or how they got my number.

It is Dennis Publishing. Offering subscriptions to magazines like Auto Trader, PC Pro etc.

please be aware that they are using several different 0845 numbers as I have been called everyday for the past 2 weeks, ignoring everyone. You can ring their customer services to have yourself removed from their calling list, but I didn't sign up to be called so isn't this now an illegal practice?

I've had 2 calls from this number tonight. The first one I spoke to a very nice lady who was trying to flog me MCN at a cut price. Told her money was short and no matter how cheap they were, I couldn't afford it. she was ok with me and apologised for bothering me. 2 hours later, they call me again and I heard a lot of office background noise but nobody fancied talking to me this time so I couldn't politely ask them not to cll this number again. Dennis Publishing were advised last year not to contact me again so obviously ignored my request. Warning - I may not be so polite at next call. Oh, and i'm reporting them (even though they do offer good deals!)

there was someone there, lots of background as if from a call centre. Clearly they were too occupied to acknowledge the phone had been picked up and are to be avoided.
Block the number if you can

I was on an important call on my mobile when my landline rang from this number. I sometimes enter online competitions where you are forced/obliged to give a phone number but I NEVER  authorise that my number is passed to third parties and I am on the Telephone Preference list. [***] Dennis Publishers!!

The caller was civil enough, called at 19:50. Asked if i wanted to renew any previous subscriptions i had with "Dennis Publishing" i.e. Custom PC - Webuser or any others ...
